Yep:

Product Alert

The standard version of the PlayStation 4 is identical to the Launch Edition. Due to high demand, we cannot guarantee Release-Date Delivery on the standard version of the PlayStation 4. We will deliver the standard version of PlayStation 4 as close to its release date as possible.

Well, someone is getting bumped up to a launch edition from amazon. I cancelled my pre-order there since I'm grabbing it locally instead.

I preordered the Standard Edition PS4, but preordered the Day One Xbox One. Dont know why though I preordered both. The PS4 is the one I want...but I couldnt resist...probably because I have a "mentalilness" 🙂

Nah, honestly though...I plan on selling the Xbox One.

Its not a special edition. Its just guaranteed delivery vs if we get more you'll get one.

Ps4, this time I will not buy both competing consoles, no time to play everything.
Might upgrade PC during 2014 due to the Maxwell and such.

On the topic of physical media, why disc? 64GB mask Rom SD cards can't be THAT expensive.

Magnetic and optical track recording is so 1950s and 1970s.

Sony won a lot of good press with hardcore gamers who watch things like E3 and keep up with tech specs like DDR5 memory and the fact that the PS4 has 50% more stream processors.

PC+PS4 for me.

I am pretty sure it's not just 50% more stream processors, but the entire GPU is ~50% more powerful. You are looking at different chips in the AMD product stack ~ HD7790 vs. roughly HD7870. The specs for Xbox1's GPU would imply 16 ROPs and only 68GB/sec of native memory bandwidth vs. 176GB/sec for PS4. It also implies 32 ROPs for PS4:

I am most likely going to wait until 20nm GPUs to upgrade my PC. Will probably wait 12 months to pick up PS4.

Sticking with the PC. I've had the Xbox360 since a few months after its release and its basically been collecting dust for the last 3-4 years. And even before that I didn't play it much. The last game I spent any amount of time playing on it was Red Dead Redemption.

Yeah... the Xbone just costs too damn much right now.

I'll bet that Microsoft will offer some kind of rebate if you prepay for a year of XBox live.

I posted this in another thread but definitely pertinent here...GameStop sure doesn't seem to be worried about the used game issue on the X-Bone...

“Along with gamers all over the world, the GameStop team is eagerly anticipating the upcoming launch of the Xbox One this holiday season,” he told me via email. “We are excited about the immersive entertainment experience that the Xbox One offers, and the fact that the new console will support the unlimited trade-in and resell of pre-owned games, which is something our 30 million PowerUp Rewards members have told us they want. We will continue to work with Microsoft and publishers to maintain a seamless transfer of pre-owned games, and enable a smooth transition to this exciting new generation of consoles. We believe GameStop is primed and ready to deliver this new console to our customers.”

^^ You DO realize that it's just a PR spin BS release, right?

They HAVE to say that, they've been beaten up in stock price and investor confidence. Their only other choice is to call Microsoft out on their BS, and risk not even being able to stock Xbox One stuff at all, or get yanked from their BS 'partner vendor' status to even be able to use their GIMPED Hal-9000 used game/trade system.

I voted PS4 because I think that's the one I'll pick up first. I'm betting I'll end up with the other one down the road as well, as I love the living room integration (especially the fantasy football stuff) the XB1 is offering.
