Meh is another word.
Looks just like a Nexus.
Thats not a bad thing but the Galaxy line have always been square-ish type.
Disappointed.
I'd still prefer LG 4x or HTC One X over this one base on looks.

I think Samsung provided all the major site with the details and told them they can cut loose at precisely 2:00.

Yeah, the One X looks WAY WAY better. And a better screen too since this one is still Pentile (I know it's not a huge problem at 720p but objectively the One X still has better PPI).

On the other hand, the S3 has a microSD and Samsung is more friendly towards the mod community.

Either way, I'm LMAO at those who though there'd seriously be a 1080p screen. We didn't even get a 720p Plus screen.

4.8" screen...I find this unfortunate. This constant trend of one-upping screen size has to stop sooner or later, doesn't it?

hspa+ end of may
please be pentaband, please

If it's not pentaband (let's face it, it probably won't be) I'll probably just wait for the new Nexus later this year which will undoubtedly be based on this phone. I just hope it has a microSD slot as well when it comes out.

When people stop buying them in droves, maybe.

Having said that, I eagerly look forward to the rumored HTC competitor to the Note, and for Verizon no less!

Well, people still buy 3.5" phones in droves, too. At the rate we're going, there's not going to be anything in between...either you get a tiny screen that's hard to type on or a gigantic screen that's, well, hard to type on.

Yeah I think HTC takes the cake as far as design and display. But the expandable SD storage is huge. I don't really care about app storage.. i just need more music space!

Well, people are always going to want the "best" and the "best" seems to be 4.6"++ so you have no choice but to get the best.
Now if a company release a 4.3" and 4.8" with identical specs and people keep buying the larger ones, then I can see the point.
So far noone have release their "best" and its <<4.3" except for Apple.

I thought that too when I was on my Evo. I really enjoy the bigger screen on my Nexus though.

Same here. I was wondering if the added size of the Nexus would affect how well I could navigate the phone but I've had no issues at all adjusting to it.

If you hold the Evo and Nexus side by side, most of the additional screen real estate goes to the soft buttons, effectively making the usable space on the screens the same size.

God I don't like the oval, egg-shapped like design.
Like when the 4 carriers got the GII and started making them rounder except for ATT, I hope when the US carriers get it this time and make it squarer.

Agreed. 4.65" was my stopping point. Its hard enough to hold my Nexus single hand and get my thumb to the top left corner.

Exactly...there are smaller Android phones, but not the high end models. And the size of those high end models keeps going up and up. There was a time when 4.3" was outrageous. Then it became the defacto "big" screen, with 4" being normal. Then, the 4.5" range GSII came. Then, the Titan and Galaxy Nexus were the "outrageous" big screen. Now, it that envelope is being pushed further, and the 4.3" Razrs of the world are "small".

There's certainly a market for bigger phones, but there's also a market for smaller phones. I find it unfortunate that the gulf between what's offered in those two categories is rising.
