So much hype. So much of a let down. Can't wait for the Sony Xperia GX. It'll murder this phone:eek:

We're not talking about wanting smaller screen size.
We're talking wanting smaller screen size only so that the physical size of the phone remain small.
I'm all for manufacturers making phones with 4.8" screen if they can keep the physical size of a 4.3" phone but thats not possible.
The Galaxy Nexus is bigger physically than a 4.3" phone but the usable screen size is about the same. Dumb design if you ask me.

I fully agree with you but was willing to take a bigger phone for pure ICS and a phone I don't have to jump through hoops to unlock and root.

I was one of the people saying that the Evo 4g's 4.3" screen didn't make it an appreciably bigger phone than an iPhone despite Apple fantards claiming it was so much bigger and harder to use on a daily basis (go here for proof: http://www.phone-size.com/ --the Evo's significantly bigger screen doesn't make it any harder to pocket than an iPhone).

The phone looks fine to me. Only letdown was Pentile. Other than that it's a great phone. I don't understand the hate.

I think people are letting their expectations based on rumors color their judgement. No SAMOLED+ screen, no ceramic body, no built-in inductive charging, etc.

For me it's just not enough of an upgrade over the Nexus to justify the cost.

Edit: Looks like it might include the wireless charging. Not sure on the standard used though.

The design of the phone looks unimaginative and derivative of hundreds of android phones before it. Considering how well its predecessor did, and the hype around this phone, it's underwhelming imo.

And yes, I care how a phone looks like

HTC One X here I come!

The question will be whether to get the AT&T version or International version. Fragmented development is a huge fucking issue on Android. Ugh.

I thought you were Canadian. You can get the Canadian, which is just like the ATT version minus all the bloatware.

Nah. I'm Stateside, but that's why I got Canadian phones before:

- Milestone was 850/1900 compatible but not in the US
- Nexus S was 850/1900 in CA, but the AT&T one didn't hit til way later.

The SGS2 luckily had 850/1900 so I didn't have to look to Canada again.

My concern with the One X is that there's 2 SoCs meaning development will be fragmented. Development for SGS2 is separate from SGS2 AT&T. I'd hate to miss out on LTE but if most of the development is going on the International one, then I'd rather be there.

BTW what's wrong with the design? How many new designs can you come out with? As long as its not fugly and unusable, I'm ok. I actually really like the SGS2 design, so if they stuck with that, I would've been content.

I'm really glad they got rid of the stupid cusp though. Just make a flat phone and maximize battery area.

Were people actually expecting that? haha! yeah right. Then I guess I see why this is a "letdown". I agree with others; looks like a decent phone with some marginal upgrades. Don't know why you expect anything more than that at this point?o_O

Granted I'm not touching it due to the touchWiz crap and no-upgrades-till-2015, but that goes for the HTC phones as well. Just have to wait for another Nexus as see how that turns out..

It looks great. Just like the Galaxy Nexus, which is a very handsome phone.

What do you expect out of a device that's mostly a screen? People are too damn picky...

The unfortunate part of this phone for many people is that all that software crap goes away with custom ROMs. But I LIVE for custom ROMs... ugh. Maybe they can port some of this stuff over like the Siri clone....

agreed. If it's functional and doesn't have spikes that impale your hands who gives a shit? There are about a thousand things I care about before the angle of the curve on the corners..

THe GSIII is ass ugly for one reason and one reason only: Apple

Samesung (or Shamesung) were caught stealing Apple's design and had to think of something on their own and this is what they came up with.

My hate was towards the all fluff presentation.

Apple's influence. Release marginal upgrade phone like the 4s with gimmicky features and let the marketing do the work. Just like Apple and the 4s, I bet Samsung will sell boatload of this phone just on brand recognition and hype.
