Is it possible that he's a real American who released a fake birth certificate as a distraction? Trying to debunk a birth certificate means fewer people are looking at all of the other stuff he does such as murder civilians in Yemen that are going to wedding. Leaders do this all the time. Did you guys see that movie Wag The Dog? I remember Clinton started bombing Iraq just so the media would stop talking about his dick. Almost everything Bush did was a distraction of some kind. Nixon was known for diverting America's attention away from his bullshit to focus on things like drugs or endangered animals. Every election turns into a farce about gay marriage and guns. Pretty much everything the government does is some kind of distraction.

If people questioned my birth while I was doing hardcore illegal stuff, I would try to keep that conspiracy theory going as long as possible.

Considering it's only fringe whack jobs who ever discuss the birther nonsense to begin with that's just ridiculous to use as motivation. The media, congress, the senate. None of them cover it. It distracts from nothing.

How we've gone full circle! It hasn't been crazy people pushing a stupid birther theory for the last six years, it was Obama's master plan all along. This is how a lot of these things go; it is Obama being a secret Kenyan Muslim who is out to destroy America until that line of thinking becomes so obviously stupid that the only answer is that Obama MADE those crazy people think that.

We are not discussing the birther position. I never doubted the fact that Obama qualifies to be POTUS.

I just discovered this forgery issue today. What interests me is that reliable experts are certifying that the birth certificate is a forgery.

Why was it forged? My guess is that Obama want to look good to the people.

Where's the integrity Mr. President? You didn't need to forge a document to show people. There was no need. If you can't find the original copy, it's better to tell people the truth, that you can't find it. No need for the forgery.

You actually believe?

Wait, you accept that Obama was born in America, but then buy this ridiculous bullshit about photoshop being used? If you were as well versed in graphics as you seem to be claiming you would know that the 'layers' and artifacts you are seeing come from Optical Character Recognition, which is a pretty common feature. This is what people who ACTUALLY know what they are talking about have said.

The people who think his birth certificate is a forgery are every bit as nuts as those who believe he is a full on Kenyan.

For a more extensive debunking Snopes is here as usual:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/birthers/birthcertificate.asp
First off, you're easily one the least-rational and least-credible people around here, so of course I wasn't expecting anything honest from you, or your ilk.

Let's get that out of the way first.

Second: I read through the snopes article and linked videos myself when that first came out, actually hoping "At last! Someone's going to go through and give an honest evaluation of this thing and we can all just dismiss it." Instead- once more, I challenge anyone (capable of rational thought and discussion that is, so most of our more rabid leftwingers, this doesn't mean you) to read the snopes article, and watch their linked 'source'. You quickly realize it's basically just some unknown guy talking about the document, but saying a whole lot of *literally nothing* and not really disproving anything. I was really hoping for some actual evaluation, but you basically realize the guy is just pushing his book! He says very little that debunks anything. Snopes then links it like some definitive proof.

Then snopes just goes on to say, "And others said it was fake, but that was already disproven..." blah blah blah. But they offer no actual *disproven* information other than one guy pushing his book! Seriously, it's a ridiculous presentation, and actually reveals there's been virtually no expert examination of this, just "Some guy's opinion on YouTube". Oh, and that wrote a book he's pushing. I don't want to leave out that other vital credential.

The so-called Adobe Illustrator expert they link to, says virtually nothing about the more disturbing problems with the document, he just explains the layers as OCR. But of course the fact that its in layers is the least of the problems. It's funny too, because I've noticed anywhere around the web where actual illustrator and photoshop experts discuss this on message boards, up pops THIS SAME GUY just basically posting, "Oh no, it's not fake. It's just OCR. Story over." And yet NEVER being able to produce (or even explain) most of the actual anomalies and present a document with them!

OCR could explain some things, but it doesn't begin to explain all that's wrong with the PDF document posted by the Whitehouse. OCR doesn't begin to explain a layer of white-corrections where someone went through 'erasing' things, but didn't know enough to realize that painting with white is ADDING pixels to a document, not just erasing whatever it is you're whiting out. It would of course be undetectable in a flattened document- but with the layers left intact, it's there for all to see. OCR doesn't account for it- so then, WHY did someone paint with white on what should be a simple scan of an existing document? For what purpose?

OCR also doesn't really account for the pixel duplicated objects- and again, you'll notice NO ONE has actually been able to duplicate this, and show, "See? When you scan something and OCR it, it does exactly this same thing." And then actually release their results for anyone to examine. Again, I was hoping for something like this in the snopes article, or anywhere else, but still haven't seen it.

So again, WHY the need for all of this nonsense? Why would you even use OCR on this in the first place, if people want to believe that explains away all the oddities? All that you'd ever need to do was just scan the document with any garden variety scanner, and release a simple image of it. Any of us knows that's all we'd do if asked to scan a document we had, not run it through OCR. And why release something so incompetent?

Anyone with any sense should know that just the oddity of the file number and serial number would be something you shouldn't allow released with such obvious problems intact- if someone were going to alter any details it would be those. The 1 in the birth number in particular. If you were to alter any one detail, it would be that, because clearly it's the next number in sequence. So it's absolutely suspect that both the file number and birth record number have the key last digit either an exact pixel duplicate, or with anti-aliasing beside bitmap. It took an absolute bonehead to release the document like that.

Was it that hard for the administration to find someone who knows how to scan something (competently!) and post it on the web? That is not rocket science.

More like I never cared about stuff other than would Obama be a good president.

I'm not a racist so Obama's race was never considered. I don't see people by race, gender, sexual preference, status, etc.

I'm an egalitarian. Recently I learned that I'm self-actualized. It's interesting to discover that only 1% of the population thinks the way I do. Combined with a 99.99%tile for IQ and you can imagine how troublesome it is for me to communicate ideas that are complex to others but simple to me.

I tend to have this belief that everyone is similar to me and smart enough to understand what I'm talking about. Therefore, I tend not to explain things in detail.

I'm learning to explain everything step by step instead of assuming people will see what is obvious to me. Getting a lot of practice with my wife, who struggles to understand me when I talk in depth into a topic that interests me, and she got straight As in her Masters.

My guess on the altered BC is because the original did not have anyone listed as the father or someone other than Barack Sr. as his father. Barack Sr. for reasons we will never know (because he is deceased) did assume some extremely minor involvement in Barry's life and in his books Barry obviously considered him to be his father. Also, in my opinion, he was named Barry at birth. When he changed his name to Barack is not known. So, to give him some legitimacy and to sync with the name he goes by now, the BC was altered. Very simple explanation.

He's had several first names and even more surname's in his life.

LOL. The selective acceptance of information here is pretty hilarious. It's even better that someone who thinks the President unnecessarily forged a document to prove a birth that Hawaii's Republican governor already verified in order to shut up internet nuts thinks other people are irrational.

That's always how it is on here though, the biggest most partisan crazies are the ones always accusing people of doing exactly what they do. I guess they say that nobody has so many locks on their door as a burglar.

Calling these allegations new is quite a stretch.

Someone probably realizes it is an election year, wonders where all the birthers went, and decided it's a good time to beat that dead horse for their election chances.

Disclaimer: I personally believe Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 as claimed. I've seen no evidence to the contrary. The definitive proof for me is that people have found newspaper reports of his birth from 1961, and it's insanity to believe these could have been faked in preparation for Obama's "guarantee" of being elected president 47 years later. So yes, he was born in Hawaii in '61, he's a US citizen, story over.

<snip a bunch of stuff>
OCR a simple document. Errors will pop up. Layers will be generated.

OCR a document with tables, errors will pop up, multiple layers will pop up.

OCR a document with tables on security paper, even more errors will pop up, although the number of layers will be similar to the document with tables.

Finally, Google has turned the errors in processing a huge number of books, addresses, and newspapers into reCAPTCHA. You know, the security process to determine if you are human.

Or, is Google going to all this trouble to cover for Obama?

Just reread my post in the quote and it was a tad harsh. My apologies on that part.

That's very kind of you. Thank you.

As you can see a few post above, apparently Snopes is wrong about this issue. I didn't watch the videos on Snope. I will do so later after reading more about this subject. I discovered it today so I have to catch up.

I have to say though, the experts with 80 years of combined experience whose work was verified by independence expert reviewer are more trustworthy than Snopes.

All snopes have is some guy on Youtube that is promoting his book. It seems that others cannot reproduce the errors that he claims is a process of scanning. Suspicious.

It's not my field so I have to go with expert analysis from both side. There is a lot more evidence saying that it's a forgery.

I intend to read the 40 page paper and the 30 page review if I can find them.

Mike Zullo is a lead investigator with the team and said that when these finding are brought to the public it will be “universe shattering,” although he said that because of the likelihood of criminal charges he was unable to divulge any details about the case. He did say, however, that the allegations could be made public as early as March of this year.

Zullo has said in a sworn affidavit that the anomalies found in the birth certificate that Obama produced are unexplainable unless it had been fabricated piecemeal with the intent to create a forgery instead of copied from an existing document. Zullo said that “Mr. Obama has, in fact, not offered any verifiable authoritative document of any legal significance or possessing any evidentiary value as to the origins of his purported birth narrative or location of the birth event.” He also noted that the original was never produced and should have been easy to find.

Got to wait a bit to see primary source.

You realize this clown has been making similar statements for a very long time now, right? They always mysteriously end up being nothing or total bullshit.

I'm not surprised that none of that affects your opinion of his work though because he tells you what you want to hear.

What does Google have to do with anything? Can you follow anything?

One doesn't need to use OCR to merely to scan a copy of a document and prove its legit. You use OCR in order to make scanned text *manipulatable* in a format other its original form (like an eBook). This would be the exact OPPOSITE effect you want in proving the existence of an *original* document. Like I said, only a real bonehead would use that in this case, produce such a clearly shoddy document (and like I said, OCR doesn't account for anywhere near all the problems with it, so that's merely accepting that false premise because "Some guy on YouTube!" said so) and then present such a shoddy document without first looking at it and going, "Oh wait, this is really fucked up. Let me just scan it normally instead and present it right." Anyone of even average intelligence would have just done that to begin with, but of course expecting even *average* intelligence from the current administration is a stretch.

It's pretty amazing how people will just accept a really stupid explanation, provided by ultra-sketchy sources (some guy on YouTube selling a book said...!) that would at best show that this administration is just a bunch of inept clowns.

If the government lost my certificate from the same hospital Obama was born in, I recently sent the original I've had for a million years, I'll let you know if I file for a duplicate and they can't find mine either.

The will to believe what is irrational is called faith. It should be saved for special occasions, and not diluted on shit like this.

He's the Son of Satan , cause people like him.
lol

Did you ever see those Left Behind movies starring closet gay creationist Kirk Cameron? They're hilarious. Imagine that guy in the video making a movie about a charismatic leader who is the son of satan because people like him. The entire movie series can be summed up in this strange, awkward scene of Christians having a secret wedding (because religion is illegal under the evil charismatic leader).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDjs8TFv03E#t=731

btw did y'all know roughly 1/2 of the country thinks this way? And we have nuclear weapons. Scary, I know.

I clicked on a related youtube video and found this gem. Here's how Obama truthers see science:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEFlMHOz6jQ#t=318
Seriously, watch this link for about 2 minutes. Their version of a liberal tries to explain evolution. He has hipster glasses, earings, and stuff. It has Gary Busey!

I can't stop surfing through this terrible Christian movie. Seriously, this is what schizophrenia looks like:

These are the people saying Obama is from Kenya. They make a movie where the premise is about being marked and tracked by the government. They seem to forget that everyone is already tracked by the government. You are your social security number.

Ok, so I believe he was born in Hawaii, but still question the need to use a computer built BC. I suspect there may be questions as to who his real father is, perhaps and if there is a coverup, it is for the purpose of hiding a fact that would go against something the public has been told. It's not like Obama has always been honest about everything, ya know.

So, that said, what's up with the Social Security Number that supposely belongs to a dead guy?
