Firstly, Thanks for the tour  NL5 seems like a 1st class dude, and I was very impressed with his setup. I looked things over, listened to some projects and had time to chat a bit about our little project and whatnot before I had to run.
JoLLyRoGer, hehe, glad to see ya back![]()
Cool about the new setup you got. I'm using Sonar myself. NL5 has offered to do a mix for us for "Plat Man Do" in his studio, the seperate tracks for the drums will make a big difference if you plan on pounding one out for us. The plan is that I'll download all our WAV files when we get them done and then get them to NL5.
So, if you can get to the drum part, maybe compress that to mp3 for the rest of us to play-off of so we can get our parts recorded. (the mp3 file will be fine for that) The "Plat Man Do" track itself is a rough cut/paste job. I think you can get a feel for the timing between Platypus's original andd the longer version I cooked up. The rest of the parts will then use the timing on the new drums that you record so that everything ends up tight.
For the best tracks for mixing in the studio, all of our recordings need to be recorded in MONO and as clean as possible, and then those raw WAV files will be used (with no EQ). Keeping the drums seperated will make a big difference in the final mix.
So, are we all on the same page? Miss anything, Comments?
Oh, and thanks again NL5![]()
Oh I agree totally! I will be like night and day being able to level and control each drum individually. I've had such a hard time in the past trying to record acoustic drums with just a mixing board and only a left and right sub-master to work with. I'm really excited to try this out. I'm still conquering a huge learning curve moving from Cubasis to Sonar.
