if you live close to a bart station the commute is WAY better than commuting to downtown from the outer sunset or just about anywhere on the west side of SF.

Who wants to ride BART? o_O

And LOL at the "Pho connoisseur".

Guns, fireworks, 30 foot bonfires, and explosives?

you trade all that shit in for food, events, and weather once you cross the border.

There's nothing wrong with playing ranch btw, it's just a different lifestyle. I hope one day to experience that lifestyle, but not now.

There are many properties available less than an hour away from the Twin Cities that you could buy and do what the fuck you want. Some even in the Twin Cities especially certain towns like Afton and maybe the north metro area. If I remember right the North metro is one of the fastest expanding areas in the whole metropolitan area.

Obviously you need lots of money if you want a huge property however. Otherwise you might be able to go for less like a few acres in Lake Elmo or something.

Yes, and with a pic that says "Yes Ns1, these are my bare feet". Your AT legacy would increase 10fold.

Heat transfer of snow is still too much for me so I was only out there for like 20 seconds. But it was not absolutely horrible and I think with more practice I could start to deal with the heat transfer properties of snow and ice with much less trouble. I can last at least 5 minutes barefoot on concrete in -10 degrees without windchill. And it is only 24 degrees Fahrenheit right now so that tells you just how much power heat transfer has in human resilience.

Check your cell phone. It may have a camera.

You realize that my "phone" is a Samsung feature phone that is at least 5 years old? Basically breaking down at this point right now. Been thinking about getting a smartphone for some time now.

his job is paying for it and its better than driving through rush hour traffic. I will admit that BART and all other forms of public transportation in the SF bay area suck ass.

Are you saying that it doesn't have a camera?

Does the Bay area have any subways or anything?

not anything that compares to DC or NYC. For a city full of tree hugging hippies public transportation sucks. SF is a 7 X 7 mile square and going from one side to the other takes FOREVER.

vivi, do you have free parking at work? If not, public transportation is the way to go. If you're in Alameda, you could take the ferry. Otherwise, BART is probably it. (if you live further out, there's commuter rail, but I've never taken it.)

So, I look at BART stops and nice communities. It's been a while since I was there, but for me, Walnut Creek, North Berkeley, El Cerrito, and nice parts of Oakland are what I would look at.

bigger =/= better, as clearly shown when you compared the twin cities to san diego O_O

well it does mean that the city has something to offer. If millions of people choose to live in any area that means that there is something there motivating the people to stay and not find greener pastures.

I have always found San Diego interesting since many people I know from outside of the state of California mention it when talking about places in California they want to visit and live yet very few people who are from other parts of California (bay area or LA) ever mention it.

Honestly, I have always wanted to live in a place where it snows atleast once. Prior to leaving the Bay Area for Texas I was applying for many jobs in Chicago and would have moved there had I been able to secure a comparable job opportunity as to the one that was offered to me in Texas. But then again I had an open mind and was pretty much willing to move anywhere that was not California nor the northeast (excluding NYC)

Aridness is more important to me than the temperature. While I would like to live in a tropical area I am not going to live somewhere that has no greenery.
