Yea the drop rate was pretty bad. Nerfed because people were exploiting it I guess. I managed to complete one cake, but I had a 321 piece start from the previous event. Then I accumulated 45 extra pieces. Guess I'll just donate those.
It was being exploited badly. There were a couple areas (Lower Asgard Fountains in particularly) where they were just being farmed rapidly. People were farming whole cakes in the span of hours.
That said, I seem to have no issues with the drop rates. I'm seeing 2 to 4 per minute in Midtown without much effort. That coupled with probably a twice as fast splinter drop rate as before is making me a very happy person.

I still see tons of cake slices.
I never did the fountain farm before or directly farmed them, but I managed about 2 cakes since last Friday--mostly while leveling Surfer. I think I have 100 slices again.
For my experience, it's about the same rate I was seeing before the "nerf," just leveling and doing cosmics/legendary quests on various heroes. I can imagine that if you were seeing dozens per minute exploiting the fountain mobs--then, yeah. It would appear to be a crime now.

- BOGO is coming back along with a 15% bonus G sale.
- Cosmic doops will always drop cosmic rings and cosmic medallions.
- Triple Omega Orb bonus for shared quests.
- Increased Team Insignia drop rate.
- Team-Up heroes are 20% off in the G Shop.
- Random times and random places will have brief huge rarity boosts that last between 10-30 minutes.
- Hero tokens will have a chance to randomly drop.
There's a lot more, but those are the ones that caught my eye.

Cosmic doops will always spawn in Midtown on the doop wave after killing 7 of the 8 regular doops. The Cosmic doop will then spawn.
Cosmic doops will also randomly spawn in the normal story world and terminals. I think also in X-Defense as well, but I'm not sure.

oh wow: doop dropping rings and medallions? me likey. also increased insig drop? BTW< I've only seen Cosmic Doop outside of midtown once--He was hanging out in Kingpin's tower (I think cosmic terminal; maybe red).

overall, the event is quite buffed. daily login gifts--gear, free omega points. also, some random dev events where they will release promo codes. So it looks like there will be 10-12 new promo codes over the weekend. So keep your heads up for that.
