I think he (Cam) is just still really immature. He still does the flying thing when he comes on the field and I'm not sure if he gave up his Cammy Juilce yet or not.

I like him as a QB and I hope he has a long and successful career. Him being the innocent little kid and Smith being the naughty older brother are fun to watch.

I agree with Daniel Tosh on the issue of player celebration in football.

"People get mad at TO for celebrating; 'Just do your job buddy. Just do your job.' His job is to catch a ball. He's not that serious. I don't care if you get in the endzone and have a ten minute tea party."

I've never understood the complaints about player celebration. These people are getting paid millions of dollars to play a game they've been doing since they were children. That's an absolute dream. I'm not going to fault somebody who's landed the best job in the world jumping up and down in elation at how good his life is when he does something people enjoy. People who complain about celebration in football take that game way too seriously.

pretty much--while I prefer players to be more like Torry Holt or Wilson, or Manning or Megatron, and it earns a little more respect from me, what does that matter? That's just my projection.

You can't really demand of someone to change their character from who they've been their entire lives, living the dream that they've always had, that so few ever get the chance to experience. Let them have it, I say.

Though, this goes without saying that any player making such an ass of themselves when they are losing by 30 or 40 points will be labeled a douche by anyone, and they deserve it. (I think that's the main reason people that don't like Newton, dislike him. He does it on nearly every positive play, and during the last 1.5 terrible seasons that they had)

Newton actually does a lot fo local charity work and visits hospitals pretty regularly, iirc. But still not as awesome as Wilson--who makes weekly, sometime multiple times per week, visits to Washington Memorial to hang out with kids.

I love Philips Rivers.. He's so loose out there. Like he's just playing in the backyard - Brett Favre-ish. He throws like he's just chucking the ball around but the accuracy is there.. Whereas Peyton Manning is a freaking robot that just makes perfect throws/decisions every time. Scary. Can't wait. SD's rushing O is coming on strong right now. Woodhead/Mathews/Brown

that bolo was so weird the other day after the game. It took me a while to figure out what was going on there.

He's like Harbaugh to me--people hate these guys because they interpret their on-field personality as douchey, whiny, blah blah whatever. The reality is that they are simple extremely passionate about the game. It's adrenaline, and they feed off of it. You also have to complain to the ref at times, it's what good players and coaches do.

I remember this story about Harbaugh, 2 seasons ago, in one of the local rags. Apparently, he drove (drives?) the same beat-up pickup truck wherever he goes and never washes it. Why? because he discovered a spider nesting in one of the sideview mirrors and figured, well, that little guy has made a life for himself and I'm not going to ruin it.

I'm not going to waste my time finding pictures for you - 90% of the time someone gets a first down, they make the same motion that a ref does. Some might embellish it or do something with the ball, but they still celebrate.

Nope, just don't understand why the Broncos aren't the clear favorite in the media these days. I'll harp back to what I said earlier - I love that. We were hyped last year way too much and I'd much rather fly under the radar if only a little bit and have the media insist that we should lose than the reverse. This is much better actually.

I also love that all 3 teams in the AFC are teams we lost to. Playing a Chargers team that just beat us is so much more preferable to playing a Baltimore team we whooped up on like last year. The players should be more focused for sure.

I don't have a dog in the hunt and would love to see either team advance. Denver to continue Manning's epic comeback and SD to see Gomer Rivers a few more times.

It's a good matchup for the Chargers and they also have momentum; being on a hot streak at the end of the season seems to mean as much as talent in the playoffs these days (e.g. NYG twice, Ravens last year, etc).

The 5/10 games thing is a bit silly, I agree. I think 9-9.5 isn't too far off, but I could definitely seeing myself taking the +350 moneyline bet on SD. -9 SEA and -7 NE seem a bit high to me however and I'd surely take the 46.5 under in the NO/SEA game.

The longer the week goes the more confident I am in a Bronco victory. The last game, Thursday night game - the Broncos were not into that game at all. Didn't have nearly as much to play for as the Chargers. Manning is old and needs a whole week to rest, he can't play after 3 days and look nearly as good. Plus Wes Welker will make a big difference IMO.

If Ryan Matthews is gimpy or can't play at all, that will be huge.

if recent memory serves, bye week teams tend to come out flat. I think rest is much worse for a guy like Manning, much less a team like the Broncos.

As mentioned, the Chargers are on a role, and might be the hottest team in football right now.

I think a lot of the reason that Denver isn't unanimously favored is due in part to the blunder last year, but also because even in games they managed to win this season, there flaws were greatly exposed. Their defense is garbage and if SD goes Jekyll and pulls out the ball control run-heavy offense, they could very well pull it off.

There is also the fact that Manning is terrible in the playoffs. (Well, at being a part of winning games, anyway)

Yea yea, Manning is terrible in the playoffs because he made it every single season even with mediocre teams. Even this season the defense in mediocre, the offense is one of the best ever seen. And is statistically the best in history.

Brady hasn't done any better in the playoffs recently.

Manning is due.

Rivers is due to lose in Denver.

Broncos are due.

They will be focused. I think the rest is a good thing for Manning so I'll just agree to completely disagree with you on that.

If Matthews doesn't play or is hobbled (which he will be at the very least) good luck running ball control with Ronnie Brown.

True, but the Chargers had to win every game just to make the playoffs. It's clear when you watch that game that our offense was flat. Our Defense was what it always is and gave up 27 points but Manning was flat, our whole offense was flat and they didn't seem to care so much about that.
