I can't stand Cam Newton at all.

OH Look, I got a first down

Oh look I am in the end zone and this is how much of a douche bag I am:

Although I don't like thug life Kopper nickle all that much better. Go Russel Wilson, there is a QB from the NFC I can get behind. Better yet, go Drew Brees. Maybe PFM can get revenge on the Saints this season :p

At least I'm not alone on this, but as a Saints fan and LSU fan, I'm extremely biased.

Ok...basically every else gets a free pass because it "happens less" in other places. We'll just keep bringing up incidences that happened 40+ years ago as how bad and classless Philadelphia is. Now, I'll admit there are a lot of bad fans in Philadelphia, but to lump in the millions of fans who are nothing but nice because of a very small percentage is just wrong.

Again, I'm not excusing bad behavior, but at this point it's almost a self fulfilling prophesy that fans in Philadelphia behave badly. Any negative incidence gets blown up as national news for the rest of time. And in a way, it lets the idiots who causes these problems feel like they have to keep up their "reputation." Condemn the individuals involved, but don't condemn a whole fanbase for the actions of a few morons.

Not responding any more to this because you can do an internet search and find just as bad behavior in every single sports city as anything Philadelphia fans have been accused of. I'm also not responding to this particular topic anymore because it's the playoffs and I'm not trying to detract from playoff football.

Nobody gets a free pass. Philly is just the worst of the bunch, and has been for a long time. It seems you're butt hurt people hate the Philly fans. Well, it isn't just "a few bad apples" throwing shit at people and booing injuries; it is quite a few. Perhaps, those with class should do something to better the overall fan perception being projected by the crowd.

I love Cam. He's really cut back on the turnovers and improved his decision making. He was pretty underrated this year (granted their D was #1). I hope he continues this trend. He still needs to cut down on his tempter tantrums some more though. lol

Philly Fan:
FIGHT: Saints fan gets spit at by Eagles fan after game-win

Jets fans are pretty bad too based on all the gifs and videos that pop up..

I don't know.. I've been to my share of sporting events and there are assholes everywhere. So why does Philadelphia still get that reputation? Do Philly fans care about this perception? I've never heard a Philly fan say - yeah, we need to work on that as a fanbase.

I have friends that are die hard Philly everything. And they are the nicest bunch of people - unless there's a game on.

Yeah! He is such a douche bag. How dare he find a child to give every ball from a TD he throws or runs to!

I'm not a Scam Newton fan at all, but the guy isn't a total twat.

this.

everyone else celebrates first downs and TD's, why does that make him more of a douche than anyone else?

as for the philly comments, I believe Philly is the only NFL stadium that holds an abdriged court session at the stadium during games, they will arraign fans then LET THEM BACK INTO THE GAME

bad rep warranted. :colbert:

AMDZen is just continuing to show his lack of knowledge about other teams/the league in general. I really dislike first down/tackle/sack celebrations but I fail to see how any of them make someone a douche.

I respect plays like Megatron who don't celebrate, but I don't hate those that do.

I'm sure if Manning jumped around like an asshat any time he threw a TD, AMDZen would be all for celebrations.

I'd imagine its pretty hard to program an android to celebrate. Too many variables.

I don't see any team really wanting him. He is a proven asshat and this season has removed any doubt that a running QB is a bad idea.

Huh?

Outside of RGIII, all of the running QBs have made it to the post season - Wilson, Kaep and Newton. Throw in others like Smith, Luck, Foles who are rather mobile and I'd say that there's no doubt that a running QB can be used effectively.

I don't like Manziel, and I think he's terribly overrated because he's from the same system as Kolb and Keenum who haven't been successful in the NFL.

I agree with Daniel Tosh on the issue of player celebration in football.

"People get mad at TO for celebrating; 'Just do your job buddy. Just do your job.' His job is to catch a ball. He's not that serious. I don't care if you get in the endzone and have a ten minute tea party."

I've never understood the complaints about player celebration. These people are getting paid millions of dollars to play a game they've been doing since they were children. That's an absolute dream. I'm not going to fault somebody who's landed the best job in the world jumping up and down in elation at how good his life is when he does something people enjoy. People who complain about celebration in football take that game way too seriously.

And didn't you see Kaep, Wilson and Cam stop running as much halfway through the season? Vick's career as a starter is done. The other guys run when they have to and called QB runs dropped way off.

Him going into the draft early is going to hurt him. Even though there are a lot of teams in the need for a QB, the end of his season sucked and he still hasn't proven he can keep his mouth shut.

RGIII made the playoffs last year. He got injured in the Wildcard game they lost to Seattle. Or were you just talking about this year?

I'm sure someone will pick him but, but I don't think he will be successful. Look at those running QBs, they all have great defenses and a good running game. Sure, Carolina's RB isn't top 10, but still top 20 (and possibly higher with Tolbert didn't get fed as much).

I don't think Houston will take the chance on him and Cleveland might pick him, but he is going to fail.

Whatever douche bag, I've never seen anyone else have to signal a first down exactly the same way every single time like its a huge deal every time. Yea others celebrate first down's on occasion or big plays and do something in the heat of the moment but it isn't 100% scripted like it is with Cam

That's just his thing. Its fun to him. No big harm to anyone.

(Though I do agree that it makes him look stupid)

Pretty sure I didn't list Vick. Regardless, them not running isn't because it's not effective - it's called strategy and planning. Whether you think of it from the POV for injuries or that there was just no need at the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Texans were to take him, if only because he's from Texas.

Santana Moss has almost the same 1st down celebration. He just hasn't done much of this lately. I think he actually got flagged this year for spinning the ball (which he also does on first downs).

God you're fucking stupid. I've seen Welker do it in NE and in Denver - even your RB does it. Arian Foster has done it for quite awhile.

Didn't say it harmed anyone, I just don't like Cam Newton. Others don't like Peyton Manning for whatever reason and that's fine, you don't see me calling everyone out like dougp does telling them they must not know football because I think Cam Newton is a tool
