Concerning cars, yes, the vast, vast majority of Asian cars in the US are Japanese. Concerning people, of course not. Apples & oranges, and a weak attempt at changing the subject - you certainly are getting petty by arguing semantics. Lot more answers to the poll now, looks pretty lopsided, I guess your definition of rice isn't the more common one.
Where is your proof? Again, you make an assertion with nothing to back it up. What about Daewoo, Hyundai, Kia? I would not say that the VAST, VAST majority are Japanese. I would agree that there is probably about a 2-1 or 3-1 ratio of Japanese/Korea or other, but that is not the vast majority. I would have to say that a VAST, VAST majority would need to be greater than 90%.
Dude, you're dead wrong. Daewoo doesn't even sell in the US anymore. Hyundai and Kia are just barely reaching VW sales levels in the US. The bulk of Asian cars sold in the US are Japanese.
In fact, Toyota is the 4th largest auto manufacturer in the US right now and is poised to pass DC for 3rd spot in 2009.
So you have Hyundai/Kia vs Toyota/Honda/Nissan/Mitsubishi/Isuzu/Subaru/Mazda/etc.
I just looked at the statistics. Japan has 28% market share. 11% market share goes to other Asian manufacturers and europe. THIS IS NOT A VAST, VAST MAJORITY. I am not disagreeing that they are huge a predominant, but it is stupid to make a post without reference, especially when asserting a fact.
How much of that 11% do you think that Kia/Hyundai have. They'd be lucky to have 4%
