There was no Wall before Trump because it's an idiot's idea. Now Trump wants it and he's the idiot. Why does he want it? Because of his ego.

Trump made this wall about him in every way so yeah he gets grief for petty, stupid and wasteful.

There are sections of barrier / wall up at various parts of the border, but like a fence with a wide open gate it doesn't secure the entire border. The wall is a great idea and will stop many thousands of illegal immigrants over the years. We already have 580 miles of fencing in place, barriers that had no issue being funded in the past by bipartisan efforts... you guys are blinded by your hatred for Trump. It is known as Trump Derangement Syndrome, but it can be cured if you open your eyes.

Will Acosta apologize? (link fixed)

A lot more than Fox there, Chuckletooth
I am sure the whole wingnut echo chamber media complex is on top of these developments. It's funny to me that the states that are full of empty space and would stand to benefit the most from immigration are the most scared of it.

I've offered a less expensive option but you seem addicted to the wall.

Will Trump apologize for his ignoring these deaths? What deaths? Don't see any thing on Trump's tweets? Three of our people bombed in Afghanistan and we get Trump outraged because more lies are uncovered, specifically people who might have something to do with him. Screw the soldiers, put up a Wall and wail about Mueller.

You proposed options that are less effective in my opinion. Trump campaigned on the wall, it is what America voted for, it is what we'd like to see. It will stand after Trump's term(s). We can build roads that transverse America, we can dam the Colorado river, we can build a wall.

Your link just goes to Trump's twitter account, so not sure what you're talking about. Please relink. Also want to know if it is related to the subject, or are we just saying anything negative about Trump now (TDS again...)?

I can see Trump sitting in a room watching the scene at the border unfold, then slowly picking up a telephone and whispering, "Gas 'em."

You don't know either?

Dead soldiers.

You ask about an apology from Acosta. I was wondering if Trump was going to make one for focusing on himself yet again and forgetting about those who have honorably served. Well we know Trump dishonors them out of spite so why should we expect him to care now.

Saying good things about Trump is a bit like doing so for Mussolini so I can see why you lack support for DT

I'm all for a wall and improving / streamlining the immigration process. But securing our border should be step number one. It is too easy to simply walk across, this would stop a lot of the easy clean up, the low hanging fruit.

No one cared about building barriers / walls / fences before. You only care and are against it today because Trump wants it.

If it's so easy to just walk across, why are asylum seekers piled up on the Mexican side of the border?

Yeh, sure, it's obvious that you agree with Rudy when he says truth isn't truth but the difference between what you profess to believe & observable reality are quite different, huh?

Nope. America just voted to shitcan the wall by turning the House over to the Dems with their largest seat gain since the 70s. The wall will never be built. Cry about it, your tears will be delicious.

A minority of low IQ simpletons want the wall, not the majority of Americans.

Better idea.. give all 200 million Mexican's green cards with a treaty that Americans can live in Mexico and enjoy the cheap subsidized by government healthcare. Win Win!

With all this talk about the wall it reminds me of how Trump kept saying Mexico was going to pay for it. He doesn’t say that anymore, does he? Haha.

You idiots who believed his lies should be ashamed of yourself. How could you be duped so easily?

I rolled my eyes the first time he said it

So easy that tons of people are arrested attempting it every year.

We joke about the "wall" because his concept of the "wall" is stupid. Billions have been spent on border security by congresses and presidential administrations of both parties. If you really wanted to do something about illegal immigration you would create an easy guest worker program and punish the ever living daylights out of people who hire illegals.

Build the wall is just a simple minded non-solution to a very complex problem.

As someone else said in this thread (was it you?) E-Verify

A wall is cheaper and effective 24x7x365. We have some ~5000-6000 troops to head off the caravan and the port of entry was shut down. This isn't the average border crossing.

I'm really confused about the soldiers losing their lives in Afghanistan and how it is that related to this story..? Acosta apologizing to Trump for his attempted debate (not question) with Trump about the caravan is directly on topic. Acosta was wrong, Trump was right.

Except Trump says the troops are only there in support functions. You know, being bored out of their skulls & eating MRE's in tents inside barbed wire bivouacs.

Yeh, you jus' know Trump is right about everything. It's quite remarkable how Trumpsters simply reject reality when it doesn't match their mental image of the Great Leader.

Yup, but they are there, probably a pretty good deterrent. With a wall we may not have needed to spend the money to deploy all of these troops. The wall isn't a bad idea, stop being an evangelical leftist.

It's interesting that previous presidents were able to handle similar numbers of migrants without building walls, separating children from their parents, or deploying the Army.

Maybe Trump should call them up and get some tips on how to handle the situation as he clearly seems in way over his head.

We have millions of people here illegally today for exactly the reasons you state. Glad we have a real leader today. You are just so used to the problem that it is the norm to you.

A real leader? That's what all despots are called. At least Hitler fought in a war unlike Trump and his disgraced grandfather who was booted out of his own country.

The Dear Leader thing is long past worn thin.

Wait, you're claiming the millions of people here present illegally came in migrant caravans? That's ridiculous. It was a constant inflow over years. Assuming you recognize that reality, troops can't possibly be helping because Trump is already sending them home after he wasted the better part of $100 million on an election stunt.

As for separating children from their parents I would LOVE to hear how that plays into your strategy. :)

It's been funny to watch you start calling people 'cucks' and increasingly deifying Trump in response to criticism. So emotionally fragile!

Drenare la palude !, or Drain the swamp! That was one of Mussolini's BTW. I woundn't call Trump Hitler but perhaps Il Douche, suits him. The similarities in personality are much more alike than not.

Previous presidents and congresses did nothing to stop the problem of illegal immigration, or at least didn't do enough. Not near enough. So today we have millions of illegal immigrants in our country. Many of them are decent people and probably deserve a path to citizenship. Many should be loaded up on a catapult and fired back across the border.

Separating children from families? Obama did that too. Trump simply expanded it. I don't know about you, but I'm not big on sex trafficking. Many kids are sent here without their parents, guess what happens when they're alone with strangers trying to illegally smuggle them here. Again, glad Trump took decisive action even if it hurt your little feelings. Just think, if they didn't come here illegally then they would have never been separated. Hmmmm....

Your last paragraph, well, that's more of a reflection on you than me. Keep fighting the good fight. :)
