Don't know if this was mentioned before, but it's a little strange that the Sapphire SP chipset is Gen 3 versus the WS version being Gen 4. That could be because SPR was supposed to be released like 3 years ago and they for some reason didn't update the server chipset but did the Workstation one.

Lunar Lake is a very Interesting SoC that based on 18A process. It could be full monolithic since Intel is targeting ultra low power and performance to compete with Apple's M4. The issue is timings; 18A process only MR in H2 2024, I would expect volume shipping in 2025 at the earliest..

The sum total of Intel's official communications about Lunar Lake can be summed up in this slide. It's from the same presentation that that article is referencing.
As you can see, they lump together Lunar Lake "& Beyond" into one group, and also include "External" for the manufacturing process. As you point out, using 18A would imply a 2025 release, so clearly not everything there can apply to Lunar Lake alone.
Most Lunar Lake rumors have claimed N3, which would fit with the "External" label, but Intel's not officially confirmed one way or another.
Oh, fair enough. I hardly heard anything about LNL being tested at TSMC N3. The interview guy is actually Boyd Phelps, corporate vice president of Intel’s design engineering group, and general manager of client engineering. But this is Intel we are talking about so even they said 2024 products, I still have doubts.
We will see how Intel handles the ARL process, if Intel somehow manage to make it works under Intel 20A with 8P+16E. One can only hope, how is your take?

I think I did, but only because I forgot to plug in my laptop.
Honestly, I don't know a situation where you would want to play on your laptop, but don't have a socket to connect to.
If we were talking about something like Steam deck then I can understand that you want to have as much battery life without any cables connected but Laptop?

So Xeon 2495x basically replaces 2295? Do we know pricing of this new gen? Cause i checked the 2295 price and apparently the recommended one is around 1600 USD, and i found it on Amazon priced like this as well, local european e-stores that sell server/workstation hw have it for 2300 EUROs. That price might be down to its EOL status and limited availability - apparently it did cost way less a year before.
I just wonder if Intel will price the new one comparably to 24C Threadripper or stick to this lower price and undercut it.
13/14 inch gaming laptop that someone would use in the comfort of their bed, just before sleeping, to get their gaming fix. One would prefer to not have any cables in such a situation. We may have people playing Shadow of Tomb Raider on Apple M1 Air laptops too once the SoTR Apple Silicon binary is released.

It's not great playing a game(RTS or Hack&slash) in bed, which requires a mouse. I already tried It.
edit: mouse cable wasn't such a problem. Uneven bed surface was a bigger issue. Gaming in a chair is more comfortable for me. In bed I like to watch movies or browse the web, but certainly not play games.

Phelps talked about MTL/ARL, which is what his team worked on. LNL is being handed by the Israeli team.
The current rumor is that the 8+16 die is on N3, while the 6+8 (mobile) die is on 20A. Bit odd, but I can believe it.
Not to say 20A is necessarily all sunshine and roses, but I'd be more concerned about Lion Cove itself than 20A.
