To be honest the 5995WX has a CPU/Thread advantage, so the 8490H is at a disadvantage in Speed and core/thread but it manages to be 2% faster.

But Genoa it's in a different league all together.

2S Genoa vs 2S Sapphire Rapids.

As I thought. ONE 96/192 Genoa can beat 2 SR chips. And the power different is probably even less than half.

Honestly, I don't know a situation where you would want to play on your laptop, but don't have a socket to connect to.

I can think of a personal reason why I'd do so if I decided to game on my laptop:

Save battery. By having it plugged it you are doubly heating up the battery by charging it AND having everything heated up. All that plus being at 100% is the quickest way to kill your battery.

Also, having a PC you can do anything and anywhere is neat. You would do so if you could and very well. More people would.

This also benefits manufacturers making portable game-focused mini laptops like GPD. Most people on such devices game on them, and if it uses Iris Xe they'd benefit from the setting.

Alright Folks, Who is ready for tomorrow's Obituary/Reviews of Intel Xeon SPR-SP(non-HBM)?... Phoronix and STH will be doing Reviews on Linux.
