Not all of them. As long as you pass the DREAM Act and improve guest worker programs, you’ll provide employment for those who came here as kids (no fault of their own) and temporary/seasonal workers who don't intend to live here permanently. As for the rest who don't qualify for jobs--that's the whole point. Deny them a living here and they return home.

So, what's the difference between legal & undocumented immigrants who've been here 10 years or more? Paperwork.

Working people staying out of trouble and paying taxes (assuming they're paying taxes) is not where I think ICE should be focusing its efforts. I'd rather see people like this have a proper and realistic path to citizenship or legal residency.

2 lies from you, again.

One waited in line.
One Registered.
One Went through the proper channels.
One Had thorough background checks... and generally... Played by the rules fucking retard.

Acting as if they are the same is what separates the sane lefties from the crazy nutjob open border retards like you.

How about they crush the employers, not the workers. Most of these people had families. Kids were left with no one to pick them up from school, came home to empty houses etc... The community had to rally together to help these kids by taking them to a local gym so they could be sheltered and cared for.

Fuuuuuuu......Grownups own their own shit... enter illegally and get caught equals consequences... But ffs you can just leave the children in the streets???? What kind of nazi level cruelty is this??? Move the parents move the children with them until potentially other arrangements can be made...
What really breaks my heart is that the children here is most likely Trumps PR message to his base... There be some fcked up people i their basements wanking off to this shit.
It leaves an empty spot where hope for humanity should be.

Exactly. Rewarding those who took the initiative to file for DACA in the first place and took a risk. People who immigrated as minors and are not legally responsible for their immigration status.

Besides, some versions of DREAM Act would extend protections to all who qualify, not just those who filled out the DACA paperwork, which I would support (since people would naturally be suspect of volunteering that data to a government that has since changed hands and is now in the clutches of a fascist regime.)

Which results in no functional difference at all, other than the fear factor. 11M undocumented immigrants won't be leaving voluntarily, nor will a truly significant number be deported or denied the opportunity to make a living. Their children born in this country will always be citizens, as well.

That's just reality. The only constructive course of action is widespread amnesty. That, or beefing up ICE to become the immigration Gestapo. That won't happen, either.

Really why not just admit reality and permit an expansive guest worker program for everything north of Columbia? A modern version of the Bracero program but with more protections and freedom for workers. Purported policy has never once trumped the sheer economics of this situation and there is no reason to think we can really change it.

I've advocated something like this for decades. Withhold a substantial portion of their pay until they return to their home country.

You're not considering the alternative facts of post truth conservative thinking. We need to confront every Mexican looking motherfucker in this country every morning with "Papers, please!" until we rid ourselves of this scourge of icky brown people.

Why would we want to send our best workers away? We could offer to trade their home countries for our Jerry Springer rejects.

Yeh, just put on the magic red slippers, click your heels together three times & make a wish, just like Dorothy.

Enforcing a law that makes sense is not terrorism. If a law isn't enforced, it isn't a law. We certainly should be more focused on criminal elements than people that are not getting in trouble though.

Not a super bad idea... At the end of the day we want some of that cash to flow back to help build their home country.. after a #of years they have the oppertunity to go back with a bag of green + the experience and knowhow of working in a particular field...
If you really wanna end illegal immigration, stop the thing that makes them take the journey in the first place.

So lets extort them and pay them below the market rate (probably far below what you think) and potentially avoid taxes? SOUNDS GREAT!
It's funny that Democrats are the party of the poor but illegal aliens have a disproportional negative effect on those poor.

Amnesty was done in the 80's in exchange for the Democrats fixing immigration. Here we are decades later and still nothing from the Dems.

That's just crazy talk. We just need to fund more death squads, like Reagan did in the 80's. It'll solve everything.

Kids came home from school to find out their parents were gone. Pretty cruel, but what else is new?

Kids showing up at home and crying in the street with no one to take care of them because Mississippi doesn't have the human services budget to intake thousands of kids in one day. And ICE definitely dgaf. They did it on the first day of school to maximize the pain.
