OP, why don't you grow the fvck up and become a man. You laid down with this woman and should have known that one of the consequences of it could be pregnancy...nothing is 100% other than abstinence. I think it's good that you and your gf have talked things over, and discussed what would be best for both of you. It's also mature to realize that things can go south quick with parents, college, new baby, etc all at once. But it's also mature to own up to your responsibilities, if it comes to that. Like anyone over 30 never made a mistake, bad decision, or had fate/god/whatever deal them a sh!tty hand. The op is obviously very concerned about a number of things (actually about more her than him) and understandably a little freaked out. It is amazing to think that we invented causal sex, oh wait no we didn't. It has been around since man figured out where it goes in women (many thousands of years). If anything it is our parent's generation that is to blame for the recent explosion and social acceptance of casual sex (read 60s and 70s). Get off your high horse before you fall and hurt yourself.

Abstinence education is a total waste of time since nature wins almost every time. Instead of actually addressing what is going to inevitably happen (teenagers have sex, always have and always will) lots of people prefer to stick their fingers in their ears and hum loudly in the hope it will go away all on its own. Abortion is by no means a modern invention. It has been practiced for at least a couple millenia as far as I know. We do now however have the tools to prevent pregnancy or terminate it hours after it happens which is a major step forward from previous means.

Personally, I prefer to deal with that scary thing known as reality instead of attempting to sweep things the carpet that don't agree with my narrow belief of what is proper.
 
Something like that happened to me except it was right after I graduated college. We were having sex, she got pregnant, we got married and this is what turned out
Tyler at 3yrs.

Now couldn't picture my life without them both. All I can say is if she is, time to step up to the plate and take on the responsibility. They do have programs to help people out with limited income and such. Might want to look into that.

In your case though it sounds like shes not so I wouldn't worry.

Slavery's not a modern invention either, but we know it's wrong. But maybe it's not so very wrong, if it comes from human nature. Perhaps you'd like to use the same "logic" to justify ownership of another human being.

You have free will. You can put your dick in any hole because the urge comes from nature, or you can pick and choose what risks to take with your life and someone else's. After all, it IS a baby if I want to keep it.
