If you're in the left lane on a multi-lane road then get the fvck over. Nothing is more annoying than some self righteous asshat going the speed limit in the left lane purposely slowing traffic.

If you're going the speed limit on a single lane road then yeah, the guy behind me can eat sh!t.

how the hell would they confuse your headlights with brake lights?

If its day time, as in if you didnt already have em on

Yeah... the people driving wrecklessly and insanely aggressively have nothing to do with the problem...

Hope your need to get from A to B at whatever costs don't get you hurt some day...

Yes, because I addressed them too and gave them free reign in my post. Nice assumption.

The OP is wrong, regardless of other drivers habits. Two wrongs doen't make a right and all, just three lefts.

Oh I've been driving in the right lane before doing 73~75 in a 70 zone and had some jackwad drive up behind me & flash his lights. Not my fault the guy in the left lane is doing 72. I always hit the brakes on these morons hoping one will hit me. I need the bumper replaced anyways.

On a side note. I'll relay the story of me having fun with one of these idiots.
I'm riding north on my motorcycle on I-65 passing an 18-wheeler. Speedlimit is 65, I'm going ~70. I notice this little Acura is behind me not 6 feet from my rear tire!! I pass the truck and just as there is barely enough room the Acura darts infront of the truck & speeds ahead with a middle finger comming out of the sun roof. Of course this pisses me off... so I decide some payback should be in order. There was construction to widen the interstate a mere 2 miles ahead. So I pop the gas and punch it up to 90 and shoot right by the Acura. I hold it there for a few seconds and sure enough the Acura comes racing by me again at 100+ with another middle finger. I quickly backed off the throttle down to 60 and watched my mirrors. Sure enough I see the lights of a State Trooper come on as I pass him. Trooper races past me & pulls over said Acura.
I have no idea the penalty this idiot faced for doing 100+ in a 50mph construction zone but I think he deserved every bit of it.

You like to slow down traffic? Hmm.. I'll speed up and get in front of you. Once I dod this I'll drop my speed to where you're literally crawling. If the speed limit is 50 mph I'll drop my speed to 20 mph and if you try to go past me I'll speed up so you'll be stuck behind me for the full trip!!

And if you hit me I'll sue you. My license plate reads UHITISU.

Translation: You hit I sue!

hahahaha...

This thread is a great example of why the national traffic situation sucks, and is not going to be improving anytime soon.

People like you are the a reason there's road rage. Hope your high morals don't get you hurt some day. There's a difference in taking the high road, and riding a high horse.

My question woul be this: How can you get mad at someone for obeying the law? And even more so - How can you get mad at someone for 'only' driving 5mph over the speed limit on a little residential road?

Some of you guys are getting this all wrong. I am not talking about multi-lane highays, or freeways. I think anyone that drives 50 in the left lane is a moron too. I also think people who drive 45 in a 55 on a highway should speed up, or not drive on a highway.

I am talking about just driving around through the city, on little winding residential roads, where the speed limits are 30-45 or so. Why do some people think it is their RIGHT to make everyone speed and risk getting a ticket?
If there is only one lane, then you should just accept the fact that many people do not want to go 15+ mph over the speed limit for the convenience of some stranger behind them.

They should just make driving slow on the left lane illegal.... Simple as that. We only pass on the right when people in the left dont deserve to be on the left..

Easy, what is your intent? As seen in the OP.

You lose the ability to make this argument when you already admitted you were speeding. Obviously you don't care about going a few miles over the limit (who does?), but as soon as someone driving a little faster than you wants to pass you slow down, just to piss them off.

If there is only one lane, then you should just accept the fact that many people do not want to go 15+ mph over the speed limit for the convenience of some stranger behind them.
Right, but 10+ is OK according to you.

There's a line between speeding to get arrested, and speeding a little bit. Cops make this distinction too, otherwise 50% of all drivers on the highway would get pulled over. So yes, maybe 10+ is ok for him, but 15+ is not. You have to draw the line somewhere, and for most of us "common speed" is the limit. Common speed is usually like 40 in a 35 zone or something..

Wow... I am really glad I don't live down there with y'all in the lower 48. The traffic here in AK can be annoying on occasion, but I almost never have any of the problems you guys are ranting about.

Actually the only time I had an issue was late one night, I was on a 4-lane road doing 55 and the limit was 50. This guy bent on causing trouble comes screaming up on my bumper, brights on. I don't mean he was tailgating me; I mean RIGHT ON my bumper. Not even 12 inches away, I kid you not. I was terrified to even try slowing down slightly... he was THAT CLOSE. I accelerated a little and so did he. The other lane was wide open. He would not pass me. After half a mile of this, I became convinced that this guy wanted to hurt me. So, being the resourceful guy I am, I realized that I had been out at the shooting range earlier that day. I picked up the .44 I had in the other seat and held it in front of my back window where the guy's high beams immediately picked it up. Suddenly he became a safe driver. Problem solved.

Yeah, that's why I'm thinking he's not talking about multi-lane roads. Seems like every time someone comes here complaining about being tailgated, everyone assumes he's driving in the left lane of a multi-lane highway.

I didn't say they did or did not have a right to get pissed at me (if I was doing what the OP described). Sometimes I'm in a hurry, when someone goes flying up on my tail I MOVE OUT OF THE FVCKING WAY. I don't try to cause an accident by being a prick. Since they have the two wrongs make a right attitude (like the OP), I simply take on the same philosophy. Nothing pleases me more then the look on their face after you speed up really quick go to fly around them and suddenly brake check them. Have a dose of your own medicine you fvck.

It doesn't matter if it is a single lane or 100 lanes. The courteous (and logical) thing to do would be to pull over into the shoulder and let the guy pass (if its one lane). Even if you think the guy is an @sshole for driving like that, you never know he could have got a phone call from his daughter while she was about to get raped. Maybe he is running his wife to the hospital. The reasons may be unclear to you but he/she may have a valid reason to want you out of their way. You don't intentionally try to cause an accident and be a complete d!ck like the OP obviously is.

Not to mention - the guy your taking your road rage out on the highway might be a crazy vato homie from the east side. I've heard first hand stories from people in cali who do things like the OP did on the road, only to have a glock pulled out on them. Its so hilarious that even in this day and age, people will simply start fvcking with people they don't know when they could simply drive for 2 seconds on the shoulder and have the guy off their tailgate. Stupidity.

Idiot. What the OP is talking about does not require him to use his brakes and could not possibly cause an accident unless the person behind him is an idiot. What you're talking about is TRYING to cause an accident.

Now we're supposed to get off the road so people who want to drive like maniacs can drive how they want to drive?

Your simply supposed to move, for a second, and let them pass. Is this concept foreign to you? Have you never seen people do it? Are you stupid?

If this is on the freeway with multiple lanes and you're in the number 1 lane...that is just retarded. Slowing down when someone tailgating you is logical, but its the people that are wannabe cops that piss me off. Going 65 in the #1 lane on the freeway impeeds traffic and is againts the law. Most of the people who do that are so thick headed they can't comprehend it though.
