Fatty gets in and hits 2....
You wouldn't be so fat if you walked a flight of stairs once in a while!

I don't understand why people can't just live and let live. I mean, I can't stand smokers. But I work with a bunch of smokers, and I'd never make fun of it ("haha! you're giving yourself cancer! stupid weakling, can't control a nicotine addiction!" or something).
their body, their choice. the fact that they smoke isn't going to affect me in any major way; same thing with obesity. eat whatever the fvck you want. it's not my place to play food police with you just because I may not like the way you look.
I tend to think it's a personal choice, though. that whole genetics line is bs -- you may be genetically predispositioned towards storing fat a certain way, but you can still counter your genetic disposition. But if you choose to be fat --- meh. your life, not mine. I wouldn't treat someone differently because of it.

that'd be fine if either of those characteristics resulted in higher health insurance premiums for those that do and lower ones for those that don't.

well its bs because obesity doesn't double in 20 years because of genetics![]()
This is largely untrue. If your twig/berries are going numb during a ride, your bike isn't properly fitted to you. If anything, being a cyclist will make you better in bed thanks to gains in aerobic capacity.Originally posted by: AIWGuru

Many people here have 10,000+ posts and are making fun of fat peopleGeez you would not happen to be hiding behind a computer acting like you are perfectly fit are you?
Mwildthing posts your pic Mr. 12,000+ posts and is in perfect health.
Fuasto , you also Mr. 16,000 posts
Minendo, 24,000+ posts .....
Actually, I find it hard to belive that you three making rude comments are not lard asses . You apparently have trouble backing away from the computer, and being that you spend so much time on the computer and not exercising, I am willing to bet that your keyboard resemble a lunch buffet with all the food crumbs in it, from you stuffin your face for you're too damn lazy to back your collective lard asses from the computer to eat a healthy meal.
Me thinks it is a safe bet that you three are fat. But you know I could care less if you life is shortened for being fat, for wheather you die right now as your read this post or if you die 30 years from now ... your life has no impact on mine .. so be fat, be happy and die whenever you want .... it doesn't matter.![]()
You shouldn't.
Riding bike's pinches the blood vessel to your penis and causes erectile disfunction.
I can't seem to break 205 without losing huge muscle mass.Originally posted by: hevnsnt
I can see my body trimming up, but I can't freaking break the 196lb.. It is freaking driving me nuts. So anyway I guess my point is, that for you overweight people (myself included) you need to realize that you are overweight, and make a decsion to change it.
Now, someone who knows, help me break that freaking wall.

I ate 500 calories per day and exercised 40 minutes per day for 2 weeks and I stayed at 205. I'm not really going to bother to try it anymore.![]()

And yet, many people living the exact same lifestyle did not end up obese.
There are obviously differing levels of genetic propensity for obesity. For some, the decline in leisure activities over the last 20 years was enough to send them into obesity. For others, it was not.

Apparently, working for the CDC exempts you from following any of our health guidlines. Hell, even the cafeteria served fried chicken livers with gravy every Monday as recently as a year ago. So, at a guess, how much does she weigh?
Just how you like 'em, huh?
Seriously, working at the CDC, you think she would have some idea that being a fatass = not good. And that moving 100' shouldnt put you out of breath unless it is near vertical, or you are sprinting. Never mind needing to stop to catch your breath...

hard to have the same lifestyle, foods a lot cheaper, and far more variety today then even 20 years ago. in part thanks to the explosion of cheap sweetener(nonfructose corn syrup). and silly "fat free" snacks that have the same number of calories![]()
I think this thread is not targetting disabled individuals that cannot exercise regularly. How many of those people do you see and how many physically healthy beings do you see in this world? I see WAY more obesity in everyday people who function and live their lives like you and I.Originally posted by: SampSon

Agreed. Starving yourself is absolutely not the way to go as it puts your body in panic mode and it starts pulling calories out whereever they can be found. I'm working off my winter weight right now at a steady 1-2 lbs per week and not really doing anything particularly drastic. I ride my bike as much as I can, don't gorge myself at meals, eat mostly very healthy unprocessed food (wife and I are both decent chefs), but I'm not a freak about it. For example, dinner last night was grilled chicken salad with wild rice, leftover vietnamese-style shrimp curry, a little crusty bread and a glass of red wine.Originally posted by: dfi

Maybe try not eating so little? I think the general consensus is that the faster you try to lose weight, the more muscle you are going to lose. Record your average daily calories over a week. Now, decrease that by a few hundred. Try including oatmeal into a daily meal; it really fills you up fast. Add some high intensity cardio, maybe 3x a week? 15 minutes, including a 5 min warmup, then 1 min of MAX effort, 1 min of easy effort, repeat.
If after a month of this you still don't lose weight, well then that really sucks.

My advice would be to track your caloric intake for a week or so (as in: write down everything that goes in your mouth) and then cut out the most obvious culprits in terms of empty calories.

I thought that muscle weights more than fat was just a wives tale and not true.
It is more dense, but that isnt the point (at least not by itself). If you continue to weigh the same, but you are seeing visible results... you are getting results.
