That attitude will earn you a knife in the gut someday.

(Unless of course you only 'correct' little boys and teenage girls).

Not if he is correcting them first with a knife in the gut.

That's what concealed carry permits are for. Stupid teens bringing knives to gun fights...

I was standing in line to pick up my take out order from Denny's. There was a girl and a few old ladies ahead of me. The girl was getting mad because her take out order wasnt ready (the girl working was bagging up 3 of them all at once). The lady working the register told her it would be a second and said she would ring up the old ladies who had already ate. The girl that was waiting started flipping out cussing out the girl working the register. The girl did the right thing and rang up the grumpy one. Then one of the old ladies (they were at least 85) asked one of the other old ladies what was going on. The grumpy girl then started cussing out the old ladies. And I mean swearing up a storm.

The ladies looked like they were about to have a heart attack so I spoke up. I yelled at the grumpy chick. "you need to show some respect to the elderly!" The grumpy chick then started swearing at me telling me that the ladies were yelling at her. I told her that they hadn't said a word to her and that she needed to leave them alone. She said a few choice words to me and I got in her face. I told her to quiet down and watch her language. She cussed at me a few more times then I said. "Look, those ladies didnt say a word to you. I am though. If you want to yell at someone, yell at me. But you are just making yourself look stupid." Then she shut up and turned around. By this time everyone in the whole place had quieted down and was staring at me. Even the people working in the kitchen came out to watch. The grumpy chick got her food and left, staring at the floor the entire time. I apoligized to everyone for making a scene. As I was leaving 3 different people stopped me and told me I did the right thing. I really think the grumpy chick was either coked out or a crackhead...but she was way out of line.

If this is EXACTLY what happened she got the lite end of a stick I would have used to scewer her and BBQ her up for dinner. Absolutly disgraceful! Good job for setting her straight.

I think you did the right thing. Since you didn't hit her or swear you didn't dig her deeper into her own little private pit of hell. She would have been even more angry and would have felt justified since someone yelled at her.

I probably would have grabbed her and thrown her out the door onto the parking lot.
Then she would have got some hotshot lawyer, and sued me.
Since I'm stationed in California that would mean $50,000 for the skinned knees, and $25,000,000 for the mental anguish. Of course, the elderly ladies would have no similar recourse since they didnt get injured.
Assuming the girl was white, the only other problem I would have is Oprah and Phil getting groups together to harass me. You know how horribly violent and repressed those men are.

If she wasnt white, then its a hate crime and I would end up in the fine california correctional system making friends with Bubba.

i am not sure if the elderly deserves more respect just because they are old, since in my opinion, respect is something that is earned over time, but i do feel that you should be more patient towards the elderly.

I'm dreading the day people start referring to me as "the elderly". 😛

Ya, that's probably the only flaw in what was done. "These nice ladies" is better.

Also, don' trefer to women as mam. makes them feal old. learned that in college when paying for my lunch.

How is an adult man using his superior size and weight to intimidate (threaten) a teenage girl "ownage"? Looks more like thuggery to me.

Oh we weren't aware that you've met gooddad before and know how big he is? If not, don't assume because you make yourself sound like an ass.

I am assuming he is bigger and stronger than the girl. It's a pretty safe assumption, given average weight and height for adult males versus teenage girls. I am also assuming he used that advantage in height/ weight to intimidate this girl. I don't call that ownage.
