"You Can Dooo it!" Yeah it would be great to have the advantages that some of the others have but as you can see, there are a lot of other individuals here that were able to go to college without the financial support of their folks.

Maybe you caught them by surprise by going to College?

That's $4,000 per year for a 15yr old to earn during the summer and after school.

If you wouldn't blow your money on pot, you might be able to actually pay for things on your own, right?

Stop being a whiny little bitch. I'm honestly sorry. I was a genius growing up and my parents did the same. Skipped grades and they didn't have any money for me either. Suck it up and pay on your own. You'll be prouder in the end.

You talking to me!? Uh... I'm basically saying the same thing you are...

No. I was telling my own story. The heck with yours.

By the way, I saw crap all over your face in a dumpster diving post. Stop trying to rank on people. It has only served to make you look bad here.

Everybody elses' parents have some money put away for their children so that they can help their son/daughter pay to attend an institue of higher learning (college, university, etc.) after completing high school.
From the looks of the responses in this thread, quite a few parents didn't pay for their children's college. It could be worse - my mother said she was starting an "education fund" when I was younger. After I turned 18 years old, I asked her about this "fund" and she said there was no such thing. So, not only wasn't there any money for college, but my mother lied to me about starting an account. Biatch :(

However, I had my employer pay for me bachelor's degree. Sure, it was tough working during the day-time and attending classes on nights and weekends, but I don't have any college debt and I only had to pay for my books.

If you ever read the book the "Millionaire Next Door" - you will see that even millionaire families usually don't give "hand outs" to their children. They essentially leave it up to their children to find a way to make money to support themselves or their lifestyles.

Dude...I'm sorry for your troubles.

My advice: Leave home, live on campus, apply for fin aid (you living by yourself should get you more), and get a part-time job. it'll be hard but you'll get through it without having to take crap from your parents.

You are seemingly trying to be a troll, but you suck at it so bad you aren't even making since? "Taking information in your own quotes" when it was obviously quoted out of your post. That seems like a joke that would be funny "MAYBE" in early elementary school. I can't help but feel sorry for you. It is hard to fail at being a troll. You can't even achieve mediocrity.

LOL!:D:p

I don't seem to understand the mentality where amount of posts mean a thing except that you've been here awhile.

I've read the recent posts since I have been here, and FFM looks like a jackass. Sorry if I'm wrong.

Here's my advice... Quit your whining. Along with paying for school, I have my own bills I pay... so get a job.

$266.11 GMAC (for the car in my signature)
200.00 AAA (insurance for my car)
25.00 DirecTV (split with my dad)
30.00 Comcast Cable Internet (split with my sister)
+ 35.00 Sprint PCS
_______
$556.11 Total Expenses with no credit card purchases

Oh yeah... also remember that I do put $20 in my car for gas a week and go out to do things with my friends. It's not that hard to do.

Go find an employer that offers tuition reimbursement.
Apply for financial aid at www.fafsa.edu - If your parents dont make a lot of money, you will probably qualify for something.

A lot of us are in the same boat man.

I gotta pay my tuition too, but at least I live at home, so food+place to live is taken care of. But I won't own my own car until I finish school (the earliest) and basicly, its sucks compared to my friends who live in res, but it could be worse. If I had to pay for res+tuition+food+etc, they I probably wouldn't have been able to go to university.

Yes, it does feel unfair if you compare yourself to others that parents give them everything that they want, but you might want to look at billions of others aren't as lucky or as privilege as yourself.

Just to let you know, I believe that one of the Dean at University of Irvine was an immigrant that worked & support himself since 14 years old. He entered the US illegally with out parents or any familly to work/school & was sending money back home to support his family. (Can?t recall if Irvine was the correct University, but it was a long time ago that I when to the my cousin grad & have the pleasure to listen to that dean talk & to shake his hand)

It took him much longer than the average person to get a PHD, but he is now one of the most prestigious prof at Irvine.

The moral of the story is that it is harder to get where you want to go with out your parent guidance, but it make you a better man if you pioneer the path yourself.
