I am so fvcking mad at my parents.

Sucks big time but you have to figure out a way to pay for it on your own. It's hard but doable.

My parents/family haven't contributed 1¢.

They sound a lot like your parents.

My parents didn't pay for anything either. I'm going to Drexel. Drexel ain't cheap. You can do it.

Ouch, sorry to hear that...

If it's any consolation, I had to pay for my own school and car insurance back when I was your age... it's tough, but with careful planning you should be able to do it no probs.

how old are you? Do you still got time to look for scholarships? be as aggressive as you can in filling out those applications.

Too bad your parents can't help you out. I ended up doing the same thing as you. Just focus on the things you do have and you will have a great time.

Stop whining. Damn kids these days. I took out loans to pay for my own college education. Why should it be expected that your parents pay for it? I paid for my own education. Paid for my own car. There's nothing wrong with loans. Low interest rates.

Same here.....$32,000 is going to hurt me one day😀

Anyways, don't complain...from your comments, it seems as is I am way worse off than you...And not because my mom was mean and didn't save up....

It was because we were poor...

Stop complaining and "face it like a man"

I don't get jack from my parents for college. I have to pay for everything. I have to pay rent. I have to pay for tuition, books, fees, car insurance, gas, etc. I also paid for my private schooling by myself as soon as I was old enough to work for myself. That's $4,000 per year for a 15yr old to earn during the summer and after school.

If you wouldn't blow your money on pot, you might be able to actually pay for things on your own, right?

<--- Parents were not able to afford college

<--- Not studious enough for scholarships

<--- Air Force paid for 2 AAs and a BS.

🙂

I paid for everything, because my dad died when I was 2 and my mom was disabled when I went to college. It's tough, but it can be done. And there is nothing wrong with student loans, they are low interest and an excellent way for you to get a credit rating when you get out of college.

Agreed. Your parents have taken care of you through high school. There's no law that says they have to pay one thin dime for you to go to college. No law that says you have to go either. McD's has plenty of exciting opportunities just waiting for you if you don't think college is fun enough.

Stop being a whiny little bitch. I'm honestly sorry. I was a genius growing up and my parents did the same. Skipped grades and they didn't have any money for me either. Suck it up and pay on your own. You'll be prouder in the end.

Welp, at least they won't be able to put you on a guilt trip about putting you thru college and all that BS. My parents paid for my first year of college.. cuz I have no means of paying at all, couldn't work during highschool years. I was barely 17 when I went to college, so I had nothing saved up. But luckily, I got a part-time job and with financial aid/loans I was able to pay the rest of years without my parents' help. On the bright side, it build characters and you will be more careful in keeping track of your finance.

I assume he wasn't whinning

BTW....my Professional life starts on Tuesday😕

I work
I pay the rent
I pay for my socks
I pay for my toilet paper

<--will be a man next week😀...moreso than when he learned Standard Transmission😉

Cry me a river. I pay for all of my school (as well as residence + food) with a combination of loans and my own money. I can't afford a car because of this but I get by....and I sure as hell don't whine about it! 😛

Wow... you like to whine a lot when you're not stoned don't ya???

Christ, I paid all my bills in College, school full-time, worked almost full-time hours, and still have the bloody student loans... as well as a mortgage, car, and other associated expenses... and I'm only 24!

God man, grow up. "Oh wah!!! I can't go out and blow all my OSAP money on drugs and alcohol cuz I was weaned off my mommy's breast. Wah!! i got cut off the apron strings."

I can't believe I might be within 5-10 years of age of you. You make me understand why red Dawn is so crusty all the time... listening to whiny, snivelling brats like you. Big deal, you're parents are/were irresponsible. Do they owe you anything?? No... Do you owe them... Probably more then you'll make in the next five-10 years. Get over, get a job and bloody well grow up..

No, I wasn't whinning. I was stating that unless you're a whiny little bitch, you don't complain about BS like this. I get the impression that he's spoiled and doesn't know what it's like to buck up and take it up the ass like is required in the real world. You know why it is that way? Because no one bloody cares about the individual. 🙂
