I Am Officially Sick Of Winter

Yeah I'll take this over +40's. You can dress for it, or stay inside. When it's super hot, there's not much you can do.

Only thing my living room and kitchen is freaking cold. I need to fix my heat loss issues. I also kinda want to put a wood stove in, it would be awesome to throw some logs in when it's cold like this and have some supplementary heat. Need to fix heat loss before I add more heat sources though. Just don't have the money now. I'm even debating on just temporary walling in the patio door.

I've seen -50 without the windchill back when I was in high school. I have never seen it again since though but seen close to that. Anything after -30 all feels the same though. Balls cold.

I've been in -32C once. I was loading my car up to move and it was the coldest day in the history of Bedford, IN. It's 11F (-11C) here in Saint Louis and I have the window open.

Any good jobs in Timmins?

Mining and stuff is not too bad in terms of jobs, same with trades. Tech, nope. I'd be kinda screwed if I lose my job TBH. 😱 nothing else in tech that pays as much as the job I have now.

Been a pretty mild winter in Minnesota. Especially compared to last year. However this morning trying to run a few errands when it was -6 and 20MPH winds was brutal. That is some oppressive weather. Makes everything harder to do. Even going to the car with a cart is difficult. I think the windchill hit in the mid -30s.

Holy shit... 46 degrees here this morning and I have to play tennis at 8am. Well, I guess this is goodbye, ATOT.

Yeah, i'm really tired of this too. Currently -10°F (-23°C) but at least the wind is dying down(for the moment?)
Highs today still in negative numbers & even colder tonight than last night 🙁

Lake Erie is froze over so that'll cut down on the lake effect snow. We don't need any more this winter.

No way in hell I'm going outside today. Luckily we didn't lose power but with 50mph winds the wind chill is insane. We maybe got 1.5" of snow last night. Some has blown away.

I'm not sick of it, I love the Winter. Can't stand it when it gets above 70F/21C or so. I rarely feel cold but on a sunny 50F/10C + day I can start to get uncomfortably warm at times depending. Fall is my favorite season when that air gets nice and crisp plus it's purty.

Brother!

I'm getting pretty sick of it. Supposed to be -35 Freedom Degrees here today with the wind chill. (Which is pretty close to -35 Canadian Degrees, since they're the same at -40.) Yesterday, just before I left to take the garbage to the dump, it suddenly started snowing - HARD. By the time I got home, I had to get the tractor out and plow the driveways. (I took a video on the way to the dump; maybe I'll upload it later.)

It's -9F here right now, -34F with windchill. I feel bad for my furnace. It's getting a workout the last few days.

That's pretty much the weather we had yesterday. Got a couple of inches of snow followed by 40+ mph winds. We were about 100 miles from home when the winds kicked up. The drive home has brutal. Almost a total white out for the entire 100 miles, cars and trucks in the ditches everywhere. Today the wind is gone but it's -5F outside right now. Hawaii is looking good right now.

Hadn't looked at the weather in a few days. Dropped to 3F last night here and now found out that we are expecting 8-12" snow on Monday with a high of 22F. It's then supposed to drop to -10F for the next few days (for the lows). We aren't equipped to handle that very well.

Edit: Updated to 8 to 16" of snow expected now with high's in the mid teens tomorrow, 28 on Tuesday and lower teens on Wednesday and Thursday. Below ZERO lows on Wednesday and Thursday.

Its been pretty brutal for winter this year.

How are your animals doing during this nasty winter? I assume its hard on them, too.

I've been in -50c before, the damn car could barely keep the front windows defrosted....

It's 49 in the apartment right now, but the forecast changed and we're due 6-10 inches of snow and below zero temps. Still, I won't let them win. I have a long tradition of not running the heater (unless I have guests) and I'm not breaking it now.

I did that a couple years ago when we had a warm winter. I cheated a bit by burning wood, but it had to be strategic since I didn't have much. The coldest it got was 43F in the house, but that was brief. My no gas heat campaign was successful.
