Why, you might have to actually spend a whole ten minutes per day in temperatures that are almost triple digits :Q

The almost triple digits make going outside and doing anything unpleasant. That includes the ten minutes outside of air conditioning as well as any activities that normal people do outside of their homes.

flippin' hot.

i'm wearing a t shirt and shorts to work and then changing in the bathroom :)

i feel bad for my parents. they work in a dry cleaners that routinely gets 10-15 degrees hotter inside, because of the steam. :( you know it's bad when you step outside for a breather....

94F with a heat index of 104 right now in Boston. didn't think it was gonna make it up there, the temps were in the low 80 for a most of the morning but then the cloud cover went away. Tomorrow's supposed to be much hotter.

I personally don't mind it, a year in Rome cured that (Aug was in the 90's by 9:30am with high humidity and no AC).

Prob the worst thing is having to listen to the wife complain about it ;)

Meh, there's really no heat wave in texas... just another summer.

Oh, and contrary to popular belief, texas isn't exactly a dry state. A majority of the state is generally humid most of the time. I got sucked into believing that Texas heat wouldn't be so bad because it's a "dry heat." Well, I'll tell you, you couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, West Texas is dry, but if you live in the central portions and eastern portions of texas, it'll be damn humid almost every day because of the wind that blows in from the Gulf.

Today's not so bad, it's 96F with heat index of 101. But it doesn't bother me anymore since I spent a majority of my time in Air Conditioning. It would suck if I was still in High School going to football practice.... now that sucked.

Just want to point out that yesterday the hottest place in the country was Russellville, AR (ASOS Station, not that I know what that means). High temp of 118 with a 70 dewpoint = 131 heat index.

In other news, this is the first time I'm happy about the drought in NE (that's Nebraska, not New England....). Normally at this time of year, dew points would be in the mid 70's. They've been in the low 60's for the last several weeks (until today, but it's not as hot today 99*, 39%, HI = 107). It's keeping the heat index below 110 which really doesn't feel all that bad if you keep out of the sun....

At 8:30 it was 91 with a heat index of 108....so yea i'm getting that feeling right about now....

And I only spent 50 bucks at IKEA :p

You go more often than we do :p

Cuz when I'm not in Rochester Hills it's only about 25 minutes away :p

Speaking of that can't wait to be back in RH

Hopefully me you and Lola can hang out....and hopefully it wont be hotter than the 10th level of hell
It's quite the drive from Rochester Hills. My wife and I went on Thursday and Friday of last week and it was our first time in Ikea. It's quite the experience.

I was down at my apartment last night and we had the sliding door open. I couldn't imagine doing that today.

You are from RH as well?

Anyways, It's 83F at 7:26AM. I don't think I have ever experienced that in Michigan before.

My wife and I moved there in June. I work further up north so I'm only there on the weekends.

USA Today lists the hottest place yesterday as Death valley at 112F.

Not that you're wrong, i'm just pointing it out.

It SUX, my AC went out Thursday and it is curremtly 94.7 degrees in the coolest room in the house. I really can't complain too loudly though , I had power when most of the city didn't two weeks ago. They didn't even have fans in temps of 100+.
New Air coming Thursday morning. Damn those things are expensive!!!!!!
You should see the dog. We are putting wet towels on her to keep her cool in front of the fan. It is pretty funny when she gets up and walks around with the towel draped over her..
Gotta love the animals !!!!!!!!

Yet an inch of snow causes your whole state to shut down.

Whereas here an inch of snow just means the roads are just wet, not even a watch your speed event

It's somehow comforting to hear everybody else's stories.

Hot here too, NJ. Fine inside, but I wonder if the power is gonna be okay.

Well you could say the samething about heat. Northerners are the first ones to claim it's so hot, when we deal with it all the time.

It is amusing though, how a lot of people wear heavy jackets once it drops to 50 degrees. I'm not one of those people because I lived in Germany for quite some time and I got used to the cool/cold weather there.

Hey I wear sandals in the winter unless there is more than 4 inches of snow on the ground....:p
