Hahahaha, MADD much?If you're drinking beer because of the taste, you might want to re-evaluate the AA meetings.
For me, beer would ruin any meal. While I don't tend to drink soda with a meal, I would much rather drink that or a mixed drink than beer with a meal. If you're drinking beer because of the taste, you might want to re-evaluate the AA meetings.
Cruzcampo is terrible. Im having tempranillo or vermouth with paella.
There are only a handful of countries that give a rats ass about brewing and spain isnt one.
I'm talking about when you go to sit down for a meal. If you get a nice light beer (Cruzcampo, Estrella, etc) it is as sweet as Pepsi/Coke but much healthier.
Nope. Beer tends to not taste good anyway. The only reason to drink it is to get drunk. And if you are only planning to get drunk, might as well go for liquor.
Many people don't like the taste.
Soda is often sweeter, cheaper too.
If you think beer tastes bad, you're drinking the wrong beers. Anyone who suggests getting a Bud Light with a meal is a filthy communist and should be burned alive immediately upon making such a heinous suggestion. But a fine porter, a rich stout, an exceedingly bitter IPA, a crisp hefeweizen... They can be delicious with a meal (and they can pair with food similarly to wine). Done properly, a good beer enhances a meal in a way that soda never can.
Huh? Where do you live that beer is scarce? I want to avoid that place, wherever it is.
True, in the same way that a gewurztraminer will destroy a steak. That doesn't mean that wine is inferior to soda, it means you need to consider the flavor combination of your meal and beverage and how they will pair together.beer can also completely detract from a meal. An exceedingly bitter IPA to someone who is not used to drinking it will destroy a palette.

Exactly. I had a Ninkasi IPA with some BBQ ribs last night and the tangy BBQ sauce paired perfectly with the bitter sweetness of the IPA; it was delicious. A stout would have overpowered it. Soda would have been almost sickly-sweet. It needed the contrast.Aye. I was eating a pork banh mi for dinner last night and the bartender poured me a Philips Ginger beer to go with it; completely enhanced the meal. If he had given me a stout? Probably not.
KT
soda = carbonated
beer = not

in this post I make myself look like a dumbass. LOL
Anyway, I get a soda carbonation burn that I don't get from beer, so soda > beer.

nothing goes better with a meal than Canada Dry ginger ale, the champagne of ginger ales.
:awe:
With one's mouth...
Alcoholics may object.
