Mayo has to be one of the most vomit inducing substances out there, besides sour cream.

oh, and yogurt.

Myself.....used to drink beer when I was young, but quickly realized that a beer gut was just unattractive, so beer was and is out. Besides, while "refreshing" is bandied about when talking about drinking beer, it does nothing but mildly dehydrate you. Alcohol is a mild diuretic, so you're putting more out than in.

And if y'all love the taste of beer so much, would you drink it without the alcohol being in it? If you say no, then you're in it for the alcohol, the true reason one drinks alcohol of any sort. Nice, legal buzz. Too bad alcohol has so many bad side effects to get that buzz....gain weight, eats your liver and brain up slowly, you end up over the years with that alcoholic flushed face/nose......

Hard Cider > Beer

why would anyone drink beer when you have the choice of hard cider? it's usually of higher alcohol content and tastes exponentially better.

At work? Pop and water.

Dinner? Beer if I can, depending on where I'm eating at and what I'm eating.

Chilling with friends doing whatever? Likely beer.

It depends on the situation. If I don;t feel like drinking, then pop it is. Both have their places,

Beer doesn't give you a beer belly any more than cake does. A beer belly is just regular weight gain and shit genetics. Beer will cause you go gain that weight though, if you drink enough of it.

Wait what?

I'm not a big fan of mayo, I'm ok if it comes on something but never ask for it. However Sour Cream and Yogurt are both great, unless you mean just plain non flavored yogurt, then sure the shit is gross. But with the variety of flavors out there you hate on the taste of all Yogurt?

As to the soda thing. I used to drink Soda with dinner, but not anymore, now it's almost always water. I don't mind beer but have an issue with it and eating for some reason.

If I'm going out for a nice dinner, I'm definitely not having beer or even soda, maybe just a little water to wash everything down because I don't want to get full on beer or soda. I'm going out to eat good food so I'm going to get full on good food, not liquid.

It's that horrible sour taste it has, makes me gag just smelling it. I can't even drink smoothies with yogurt.

Yep, a good beer is indeed healthier. I'll take a quality tea or a swanky health food store drink, too.

I'm talking about when you go to sit down for a meal. If you get a nice light beer (Cruzcampo, Estrella, etc) it is as sweet as Pepsi/Coke but much healthier.

Ignoring the alcohol, the beer has much less sugar and more fiber/potassium.

Why would anyone subject themselves to the non-natural poisonous mix of chemicals known as soda?

IMO there is no such thing as a nice "light" beer. If I can see through it, it ain't worth drinking.

Another thing I'm grateful for living out here in the boonies - when I got out of work Tuesday, I said to the wife, "let's go out for burgers tonight." Those burgers were awesome; and the fries that come with them were awesome. And, it was $1.00 draft night. The selection was decent (though not microbrews); I believe I had Labatts Blue.

$7 for a beer?! Fuck that!
LOL Labatts Blue - I wouldn't drink that no matter how cheap it was. And I live where they brew Labatts Blue.

Unfortunately, when we have cheap beer night, its usually PBR. D:

Ooh, I love the yogurt curd!

Yogurt and sour cream are awesome. It might be a cultural thing, since I am part Ukrainian.

If I'm at home, I've no problem drinking a beer with a meal. If its a weekend or I'm not at work, then I may be enticed to have a beer with a meal at a restaurant. Not every employer smiles on employees drinking any alcohol during their lunch periods, its a major liability issue.

I almost never drink soda though, aside from after a long race or sometimes at aid stations, to keep the blood sugar up. I'm more of a water, or coffee, drinker.

Be careful alcohol may raise blood sugar or lower it.

Beats me. Soda doesn't even go with food. At least beer/wine can complement the flavor of the dish. If I'm not drinking beer or wine with a meal I just drink water.
