And...*gasp*...unlicensed drivers kill people every day
Not nearly as many as licenensed. The exception makes the rule.
And...*gasp*...unlicensed drivers kill people every day
I urge you Christians to lay down your weapons. See what happens.
If they are not needed in ANY circumstances in protecting yourself at home and non-lethal methods are good enough then maybe police should use these perfectly acceptable forms of non-lethal weapons as well? I suppose the military should as well.
There is no threat that a police officer will face that could also not occur in ones home or to a non-police officer in general.
If a criminal has a lethal way to attack you there is a very good chance that your non-lethal solution will leave you dead.
If I am armed, just what do you think will stop me from raping your wife and daughters? I'm looking for specifics.
Oh hop scotch... Religion is just a bunch of people doing what a bunch of people usually do... Some do good stuff and others do bad stuff...
One thing for sure, though... at least as far as I'm concerned, ya don't need Religion to accept God or Jesus or who ever or what ever is your fancy... You need faith!.. And when you do the view into religion of all types is quite interesting... History is filled with what religion propounds... Being baptized a Catholic and educated in their finest golden temples of study I often wondered why the folks in my parish were so poor and that church so filled with riches... made no sense... still don't.
Religion = Faith
You don't have one without the other.
Bet me... I believe Jesus Christ is My lord and savior... and I believe no religion represents his will. His kingdom is not of this world and I for one don't intend to try and make his kingdom this world...or this world his kingdom..
Us mouse pictured folks are cute, don't you think.. ?
Am I supposed to believe that the OP is seriously worried about the spiritual health of Christians with respect to their position on firearms? Or that he's concerned about being shot in some gang fighting between Mennonites and Methodists?
'
wut?
That's pretty much what any Religious person would say of their Religion.
Because it would take violent force to prevent people from owning guns. How can a peace loving Christian NOT support gun control?
The police do use non-lethal means, and there are also non-lethal military applications designed for defense. They are not so readily accepted by everyone because some people enjoy the idea of hurting someone. I don't.
Well, say as you wish... I have no religiousness, as I define it.. I have a heart filled with Christ... no room for much else..
What if Christ brought down WTC7?
Well, say as you wish... I have no religiousness, as I define it.. I have a heart filled with Christ... no room for much else..
"The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction. "Religion" is sometimes used interchangeably with "faith" or "belief system," but it is more socially defined than personal convictions, and it entails specific behaviors, respectively"
Sorta like the above... don't need any of the BS or loving companionship of fellow equally yoked folks... I'm fine with me by me self and my belief..
I realize is a popular sentiment amongst certain Christian factions, but come on man, get real. You don't get to define words on the fly.
Religion and Faith(Blind Faith) are the exact same thing.
Whats the non-lethal option to stop a T-72 tank from shooting the Humvee next to you? Whats the non-lethal method of stopping the Mig from dropping their bomb on the squad of American troops in the desert?
I bet your position on lethal force would change quickly if someone was hurting a family member of yours. Its easy to say you wouldn't hurt someone, but have them kill your wife. Then kill your mother. Then kill your father.. and you are sitting there with a gun in your hand as your child is about to die and you tell me you won't defend him with lethal force?
You define what you feel confident defining but when I define I'll use my words and meanings... I don't seek to convince since we've limited words to use... I'll simply state that Jesus to me and me to he are all there is. You term it as you wish.
And, I don't think your mouse picture is as cute as mine! :+)
Because it would take violent force to prevent people from owning guns.
I'm a Christian and I support gun ownership.
Obviously, owning a gun for the purpose of going out and killing people is wrong and messed up. But there is the other side of it - self defense. When Jesus said "turn the other cheek" He didn't mean "don't defend your life or the life of your loved ones." Unfortunately it seems so many people seem to think that's how He meant it.
But guns are not designed to defend or protect you. They do not stop you from getting hurt in anyway. Guns are only designed to inflict damage. So you have chosen to utilize a means of hurting or even killing someone instead of more appropriate defenses that would not be so lethal. Not to mention avoiding the possibility of accidental death.
