No I don't. I want you to change your mind about owning a handgun.

Dang... now that I know HayabusaRider is running loose I'm going to run down to the store and get me a hand gun... Nothing big and bulky mind you... but enough that once he gets past my 80 lb Pit Bull and two 20 lb Silkies, I can break him of the habit. :awe:

Malak, I'm curious what non-lethal methods are available to stop armed (with lethal guns) intruders?

Keep in mind timing, accuracy, and range.

Things that will not work and reasons why:

Calling the police: too slow, your family is dead before police will arrive

Swords: no range, will not beat guns, not always non-lethal

Stun guns: single shot, not always effective even when used correctly

Pepper spray: no range, not always effective, possiblity of self damage

He doesn't have anything, because there's nothing to be had. Now if he decides that his religion demands he sacrifice his family, so be it. As for me I'd rather face God knowing that I've protected that which was given me to safeguard than await a crown for abandoning my duty.

I wonder if our friend Malak has in mind that the killing of the bad guy would send the bad guy to hell cuz he no doubt or I'll assume he don't accept nor have the criteria to get to heaven upon death and that is what he don't want on his heart...? IF that is true then I'd think the bad guy and Malak both have a choice to make and I rather suspect the bad guy don't much care about heaven being all filled with evil and Malak don't much care about his family getting to heaven cuz he can't know what is in their heart... not really know for sure... but he'll take that chance, I guess.

Just as men dont have the authority to judge salvation, neither does he have the power to send someone to hell or heaven.

Statistically improbable. Besides, I keep the spray in the car.

Malak, forget the bible, God, Jesus and the rest of it for a minute.. or try..

What is the difference between wanting to kill someone and actually doing it?
IF a guy came walking down the street with a message of hope and the way to heaven tonight would you listen to him?

Now back to reality?... Jesus is said to have uttered that it is far easier for a rich man to pass through the eye of a needle than get to heaven... AND he is said to have said that the way to heaven is through belief in him... that he is the savior who brought a New Covenant.
Do acts alone get one to heaven or must these acts be in concert with belief in Jesus or belief in Jesus alone... Does that mean rich folks can not easily find the way to accept Jesus... ? What does it mean to you? Then I wonder how many acts and how are they evaluated? Are there levels of good in heaven? Do the Mother Theresas get to sit at his table or do we all... ?

I'd hope ole HayaBusa would die laughing... besides if he were after my kids... well.. they ain't nice like me.. hehehehehhehe. One would probably try to arrest him but end up shooting him... wait... he's a Christian.. why is he a cop... already has a gun... dang... here I thought Jimmy would protect me... fine kettle of fish this turns out to be... I need to protect myself cuz these Christian folks may not even though I pay em full Cesar dollars to do so... Now I forgot what I got these bullets for...:sneaky:

So, a person killed by person 'A' will not meet his maker, so to speak...? IF he is a Christian and meets the criteria for heaven he won't get in? And if he meets the criteria for Hell he won't get in there either? Either way Person 'A' not only had the power to kill that person but to set up the meeting if that is what is to occur.
Folks create that situation daily....

Have you not heard the saying "be sure to wear clean undies in case you have an accident"... or was it... "Do not die with sin on your heart"... "you don't know the time so be prepared"... one of those..

This seems so simple im not sure what the question is...death by another is to the physical body only. Heaven and hell are destinations for the soul, neither of which is assigned or decided upon by the one doing the killing.

I don't think I said that... I think I said that Person 'A' brought about the death of the person and thus depending on the condition of the now dead person's soul they go to their destiny... IF they are filled with evil I'd guess hell... BUT the point is that tomorrow that bad person may could have accepted Jesus and not gone to hell... Person "A" did not allow that possibility to occur.

Person 'A' killed and the condition of the now dead person's soul is the issue... Think about someone you know is filled with evil.. destined to hell... and you terminate them... you have caused judgement to occur when he and God meet to discuss things... It is too late for the dead guy to amend his ways, it seems to me.

I can only answer this from the viewpoint of an agnostic turned believer. At the point in which the person died, their fate was already in thier own hands so to speak. So, again, person A had nothing to do with sending their soul anywhere. Its easy to talk about coulda woulda shoulda, but most will have will have a chance to hear about Christ before they die, and those that dont will be judged according to their conscience.

Romans 2:14-16: "For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus."

Their fate regarding living or their dying was in the hands of Person 'A'. I said depending on the condition of their soul... which is their issue, they'd go where they go... but... and this is the point..... that situation of going to heaven or hell would not be occurring but for that person dying and Person 'A' caused that. That now dead person but for Person 'A' may have lived another 50 years and may have altered his soul's condition during that time...

IT is about "shoulda, coulda woulda"... Jesus said to be prepared you don't know the hour or the day when you can't any longer change your soul's condition....
IF you commit suicide I suppose you control the when... but if someone else smashes their car into you ... they do...

[You could say... only IF Person 'A' and I are in the same proximate location and all that... but that is altering the proposition. Assume you are in Iraq and some nut blows you and he up... did he not kill you and are you not subject to the condition of your soul before God at that instant or at some later time based on how you stood when you died? And, all cuz the nut blew you and he up?]

I say: Live each minute as if it is your last! Love all that you can and do none harm if you can avoid it and above all, believe in what you believe in with all your heart.

Those of you who do not wish to defend yourselves. We call you easy pickens.

And that points to the difference tween Malak and oh... Hayabusa and perhaps me... Malak is willing to let you pick his 'ens' and let God decide your fate when you die and chat with him... Haya say's 'come in my house to pick my 'ens' and they will carry you out'.... I say, "God will judge your soul but I'll judge your body and if the conditions warrant both judgments will be happening simultaniously..." I'm kidding of course, cuz I'm a coward and all that... tis why I sharpen my pit bull's teeth... she loves people... But I feed her Purina.

If they are in the same ilk of holyrollers like my brother is then they are a one issue voter Pro-life and they don't give a fuck about anything else like supporting corporate greed, obstructing anything that can help humanity and frying people.

Sorry, but I don't see anything disagreeable with prioritizing the mass killing of babies over corporate greed.

Remember the Jews that were slaghtered by the government, during WWII? Never forget the past. Keep your guns for the time when the government gets too powerful and needs to be overturned. The best way to control people is to take away all their guns.

Problem is the government takes away all the guns years before they ever try to take over.

Fear motivates owning a gun... Fear of Government or bad guys or what ever... Fear is what is driving this issue.
I lived in Ireland in '80 and '81 and although there was violence up North I never saw a Garda with a gun or even a person lock their front door... In Bishopstown, Cork where I lived Gypsies would roam about with their horses and stuff but no one worried about them breaking in... I often awoke with a few of their spotted white horsey eating my grass... I even adopted one of their dogs... There just was not very much fear there... and no one owned a hand gun...

Why are you so afraid of people WITH guns then? Seems like you are the one walking around in FEAR. If you are not afraid of people having guns illegally where you live and using them against you. Why would you be afraid of people owning them lawfully?

No idea what you are talking about... I think you can own a tank if you want one. Or a thousand hand guns.
I'm all for Freedom to do as you please... I'll do as I please and we'll all be happy campers.
I didn't mention if I had a hand gun or not, actually.
