House set to begin formal impeachment hearings

The House has the 218 Dem votes needed to impeach.

I saw one reporter on MSNBC claim that Republican Senators off the record have said that if it were a secret ballot, 30 Republicans in the Senate would vote to impeach right now (I don’t buy it...even that is too much courage for them.)

Just for the nothing burger folks... Ben Sasse's take on the whistleblower report:
Sasse insisted: "The media humbly should not pretend that this story is about something that's going to be resolved in the next two hours. Done right with lots of deliberation this is going to take a lot of time, but there's obviously some really troubling things here."

Hunter Biden isn’t exactly a saint, though. He has a history of some pretty crooked sounding lobbying deals, and has been accused of taking bribes before.

And somehow he was discharged from the Navy for being a cokehead 2 months before landing that cushy board spot in Ukraine.

He’s definitely led a troubled life to say the least—or you could say he’s the Tiffany Trump of the Biden family: https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/hun...-alleged-business-conflicts/story?id=64064060

Make no mistake—there was some shady shit going on with Rosemont Seneca trading off of their Biden and Kerry connections. But from all appearances, the elder Biden was smart enough to steer clear of that shit and didn’t make policy decisions on behalf of his wayward son.

Edit: I think the #bothsides equivalent to Joe/Hunter/Ukraine would be Moscow Mitch/Elaine Chao/China.

Also, let's be clear that if anything is wrong in the Biden side of things, that's really just fine to let him get swept up in the cleaning of the house. No one is going to jump in front of a camera to ardently defend Joe with the rest of the Dem field looking so much better than he does in the first place.

Such an investigation should be carried out through the proper channels. Not personally handled by the President of the United States against his political opponent.

The biden thing has been disproven. The investigation ended years before Biden asked the prosecutor to be removed. Even more so Biden didn't ask as a personal favor but more as something every western country and the UN itself was requesting. Its a conspiracy theory no different than the Obama birth certificate or pizza gate claims.

That prosecutor in Ukraine was fired by a parliamentary vote because there were street protests demanding it, not some backroom deal.

If one wanted to be creative, that could be compared to laundering money.

Just season the public with a little false information about the prosecutor. A mob forms because the backroom deal made it so. Etc.

Ya, ya this is TYT mountain of salt etc, but it’s a very interesting point.

Republican operator Mike Murphy says 30 senate republicans would be willing to impeach if the vote was secret because senate republicans privately hate Trump.

So what happens if these impeachment hearings weaken Trump to the point they are less afraid of being primaried and more afraid of losing in the general election if they continue their support?

Rudy needs to freaking retire as he's the worst lawyer in the world.
He may have singlehandedly talked his client into an impeachment.

When you are an imbecile running criminal enterprise, at least be clever enough to hire a lawyer smarter than yourself.
At the start of this Ukraine debacle I thought to myself : This is what you get for getting rid of all the generals ... those grownups that keep you from acting on your worst impulses..
It was a matter of time before something like this would happen.

Yeah he's not a model citizen but he's better than Trump's kids, but being a wretched offspring isn't a criminal act if he's even that. Biden himself? Nah I don't think so.

Love how Trumpster ( Trump + dumpster fire) came out in full denial even after the facts were presented. Seems that Barr is also knee deep in the hoopla right along with him. Professional grade swamp monsters indeed!
