Partisan negotiations for a must move bill happen by both sides stating what they want then working to the middle(ish). The house passed their priorities in May. The WH didn't bother to show up and begin talking until mid-July and then their position appears to have been entirely inflexible.

Why did the Dems already talk down half of their $3T to $1.5T when the Replicants offered nothing in response...3 months later, but still rejected that, without, again, any sort of offer. That is an unassailable fact of very current history that is not under debate.

You made this statement last time and multiple people pointed out that you were wrong, with evidence, but here you are again spouting the same thing. Last time I could give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you just hadn't received all the information, this time you are clearly lying to try and support your argument though.

The Democrats proposed a $3.4T bill in May. They negotiated down to $2.4T and said they were willing to go even lower and meet at the halfway point.In contrast, the Republicans started planning a new bill in late July, just a few days before the original one expired. They weren't able to come up with a bill at all. Although McConnell proposed a $1T bill that had very little support.

So even though the Democrat sponsored bill had already cleared the house months in advance and was, by far, the most widely supported and comprehensive option, they still offered to compromise to a greater extent than Republicans.

The Democrats had a plan and were wanting to negotiate for months. The Republicans scrambled to throw something together at the last minute, couldn't come up with anything and so settled for no action as they didn't want to support any type of Democrat bill. Yet somehow it's the Democrat's fault. It comes back to this Conservative idea that unless Democrats give in almost entirely on every single issue, no matter how popular or effective their proposal, then they are being obstructionists.

A genuine question for you. At what point would you consider the Republicans to be at fault here? They weren't willing to meet halfway on the most widely supported stimulus package that was offered, but you think that's OK. So what would they have needed to do for you to have blamed them? Twenty something of them wanted to do absolutely no stimulus package whatsoever. If that had ended up being their party proposal would that have been the point you turned and said they were being unreasonable?

all i know is that i bought something on ebay three weeks ago, it was put in the mail thursday two and a half weeks ago, was supposed to be delivered monday two weeks ago, and tracking hasn't been updated from the "your shit is delayed and in transit to the next facility" entry from two weeks ago. i went to the post office last week and they said it's still in california. the post office hasn't been this late on other shit during coronatime so i'm blaming the new chucklefuck in charge.

still hasn't gotten back to sender. per last update *checks notes* a week ago, it was still here in houston. no idea where this thing is. just want my damn lens!
