Federal judge says he'll block USPS policy changes nationwide

"A federal judge in eastern Washington said Thursday that he will issue a nationwide order blocking some recent changes made by the US Postal Service that slowed down mail and could threaten mail-in voting.
The policy changes at the Postal Service created 'a substantial possibility' that 'voters may be disenfranchised,' Bastian said during the hearing, adding that 'harm has already taken place.'
'Substantial evidence has been presented that these transformative changes have been done by the Postal Service which has made mail delivery slower and less efficient,' Bastian said.'

It does not say what changes will be blocked or if the blocking will help undo any of the problems that have arisen, but it beats doing nothing or continuing to sabotage the USPS.

Court ruled this was a "politically motivated attack"

That should open the door for a lot of corrective action

But can a judge really order the mail sorters be fixed in time for the election? The damage is done.

The Treasury Department offered a loan to the Postal Service if it would allow Treasury to take over control of the USPS.

Wtf! ....So this was like some illegal hostile take-over bid? ... One part of the government tried to buy out another part?. This is what happens when grifters try to run government like a business, hostile takeovers and everything. Just wait, Congressional lay-offs will be next.

Not sure about mail sorters but here are some substantial reversals

Reverse the "leave behind" policy, which instructs mail trucks to leave facilities punctually whether there is more mail to load or not.

The lawsuit also called for election mail to be treated as First Class mail.

Reauthorize overtime

If Trump had his way, the whole government would be contracted out to his cronies, and his Deep State worries would all be gone..

Yes the sender does make the claim. Have you contacted the sender to have them make a claim?

i told the sender i wanted the lens. i kinda wanted to see how long this ordeal was gonna take.

since last scan may have been at my delivering post office i'm heading over there tomorrow (today?) with some mail from my office address and maybe they can figure out if it's in the building.

because i know you're all waiting at the edge of your seat:

post office manager looked up the pic of the box on the computer and saw that it did not have the suite number for my office, which is why it was being returned to sender. it got scanned in georgia on its way back to california from texas yesterday.

i suspect that when i tried to use the delivery manager on usps to have it delivered to my post office i may have screwed up the return process which is why it sat for 6 weeks up at the airport.

This may just be anecdotal but I saw a USPS vehicle delivering mail after 11pm on my way home tonight. Not sure I've ever seen that before.

also, by the time the post office's site had updated to inform me that my package had come back here for attempted delivery, it had already failed delivery and been processed for return to sender, so, yay?

But all that work they did removing sorting machines, banning overtime, and restricting postal police. Is that all to be for naught because of some liberal judge?!
