Half of that is marketing/advertising, the other half is overblown spending, as with pretty much everything these days. Don't be impressed by how much is spent on products, be disgusted at the waste.

Much of the budget is for voice acting and licensed music tracks as well.

The ROI seems pretty high for this game, though. I would say, in the end, they're making some decent decisions on where they're putting their money.

Which guide do you guys follow for when to sell the stocks?

No guide really unless your talking about the the lester missions.
http://www.usgamer.net/articles/-how-to-make-the-most-out-of-gta-5s-stock-market

here is a decent enough guide for the missions.

When it comes to trades look at trends. Stocks that lose a large chunk and appear to have hit bottom are good bets to rebound eventually. When you have a few million you can make a 5 percent profit on one save and when you have a few hundred million those 6-9 percent gains really add up.

The graphs are pretty easy to read. After a while you see the trends. Sort the stocks by the biggest drop and pick one that is at the weekly lowest price. Easy enough whenyou get the hang.

Use the sleep trick and dont save. If the stock drops and you loose money reload last save. If you make a good trade and make some profits save and pick a new stock.

easy

Found the cause of my 980 crashes and benched at 1500/3900 and minimums really improved in the desert.

I would say stick with the console version.

PC version has a bit better graphics but the game basically looks the same.

On console you have a much larger player base, so Online is better.

And like you said, you pop in the game and play.

Since switching to PC, at least 25% of my game time involves installing games, dialing in AMD or Nvidia Control Panel settings how i want, benchmarking in-game settings to find the right mix of image quality and performance, inject anti-aliasing if the game doesnt have any built in, muck about with different kinds of vsync etc etc...

On console all you care about is the gameplay, none of this technical garbage because if some texture looks bad or jaggies are everywhere you dont wonder how you might be able to fix it because you have no choice in the matter anyways. All you do is play the game.

Thanks! Kind of what I wanted to hear and expected. It is fun tweaking and new hardware etc, this is AT after all. But sometimes you just want to relax and play a game without frustrations (and crashes). Maybe I'm just getting old, use to love 3+ hours gaming sessions on PC. Now I just want to kickback on the recliner. I will upgrade eventually and replay it but for now, you saved me $700 :)

What Future said was true, but he seems to be a tweaking fanatic, driving himself insane with the tiniest of jaggies and each shadow cast by every object in the game. IMO, on decent hardware with higher settings you would have to look really hard to notice any of these things. I on the other hand, installed the game then spent about 20 minutes testing settings to get the best quality graphics at a good solid frame rate and have never looked back.

There is no question the game looks better on the PC, but there is no way I would spend $700 just to play it again on another platform.

Luckily I just set everything on the highest setting and tried it. Had to drop msaa off and turn grass down to very high and had pretty much a locked 60fps at a step above 1080p. I was happy with that so I just played the game. After a bit I got to the point I could ignore any jaggies and such. Really wasn't bothered.

There isn't much to spend money on. Half-assedly following any assassination stock tips without any "double saves" got me a billion on each character and after buying everything i still have like 800m on each. Apparently you can get up to 5billion total but what's the point?

Also don't really see the point of story mode after you finish the game. Why not make progress on an online character instead?

game gets bugged and starts counting cash negatively if you go over 2.3B

If you have to "look hard" to spot the temporal aliasing in GTA5 you might have cataracts.

I know a clean image wheen see one.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter with just 2x msaa is PRISTINE.

I am a GTA fanboy so you know if I am saying something it must be true.

It certainly must. When 25% of TOTAL playtime is spent tweaking, that's on you.

That figure is probably inflated due to recent gpu upgrade.

Anyways what does that have to do with what we are discussing?

Seems you skipped substance entirely in favor of a thinly veiled personal attack.

This is weird. Im downloading with social club and the rate shows 250kb peek and my net slows to a crawl. Pause it and go on Steam to test it's download and I get 3.5 mb (my max).

Dunno, it was like that the first day for me but I had to download again to fix corrupted files and it went to 15MB/s

I got a key from GreenManGaming and if I knew it was going to be this shitty with Social Club Downloader I would of never bought it from them. Wish they gave me a steam Key.Seems like everyone has had issues with this POS\. I'm just going to torrent the SOB then use social club to activate it.

Contrary to your judgement on my eyesight, I recently had an eye exam that determined I actually have better than 20/20 vision. Im sure that if I wanted to just sit and nit pick I could find all kinds funky stuff, but I bought the game to play and enjoy.

PS- If you see jaggies, drive faster!!! :p

After getting an SLI upgrade, I think this game looks great with 4x MSAA + Transparency SSAA + TXAA. Still has some annoying aliasing on shaders and post processing, but nothing I do seems to fix those. Even 4k DSR doesn't completely fix those issues, and 4k DSR in general looks worse than 4x MSAA + TRSSAA + TXAA and performs worse.

FXAA does nothing in this game from what I can see.

Too bad the Witcher 3 driver release broke SLI in gta5 for me, I had to roll back to the GTA5 driver. So much for nvidia having good drivers.

Only thing I hate about online is the dickhead who shoots you immediately after finishing a heist.
So rude.

Oh was that you?

I did a heist run with some guys. Then immediatly after when we got put back in free roam he had a 9k bounty on his head so I killed him.

I found all three guinea pigs, four of the five rabbits, but only one of the 10 hamsters. It's been driving me mad for hours. I never got any kind of mission failure notice so I assume I'm not too late. The pet shop owner is furious. What do I do next?!
If you really want to see the pet store owner lose his mind, just turn the snakes out. Buh-bye, hamsters! LOL
