Point is, nearly everyone played it already. It's old news at this point.
Nonsense! Not to true PC gamers like myself, who dont even look sideways at a console release of any kind. The first GTA5 video I watched was from this thread when the PC version was compared to those ghastly early alpha..., erm console versions. :D

Yes, I am a true PC gaming snob.

I think you need to read up on asynchronous compute engines. The whole point of ACEs is for the GPU to be able to concurrently run both compute and graphics programs together at the same time WITHOUT incurring a performance hit. ACEs use only spare cycles to process compute functions in parallel with rendering..

Infamous SS used ACEs (one of the best looking PS4 games), and so have a few other games. It's not mainstream yet, but it will be.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Infamous SS didn't even have a realtime day/night cycle.

I've watched some free roam videos, look at last gen console gameplay 3min in, then 17min on on foot:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mXkrAlfROw

-> Horrific smeared sub par textures

-> Seriously they are ugly

-> Foilage/trees don't go there

-> Lighting and shadows from 2008 (and I'm being generous) where is all the dynamism?

-> Middling draw distance that is pushing the consoles to the limits

-> General lack of environmental detail, car damage looks unchanged from IV in 2008.

The whole game looks ugly and this is at 720p.

I'm not sure if i want to buy it again after paying for it already on PS3. I rarely played it on that and although i would play it more on PC i feel like it'd be a waste of money.

Are they 1.6!?! Gosh, no wonder console ports are always so light on the CPU. What a joke.
The Xbox One CPU runs at 1.75 GHz, I believe, but yes, both console CPUs are under 2 GHz. They're based on AMD's low-power Kabini CPU architecture to keep temperature and production costs low.

I still can't help but wonder if this was originally only built for old gen and whole bits were cut out; imagine if this would have been next gen/PC exclusive. The character models/movements for one are average. Still buying it Day 1 though.

I'm not sure why you're wondering, GTA V was in fact built for last gen consoles, though it probably pushed said consoles to their limits.

Uh...yes? It's footage from the last gen console version. I'm not sure what bearing this has on how the PC version will look?

And it was the best looking game last gen.

"Where is the dynamism"

GTA5 is easily the most dynamic of all the open worlds. Have you played Saints Row games? Talk about static environments.

Good thing is this game will make a lot of people upgrade their ancient gaming PCs when they realize they can't play it on their Core2duo and 9800gt setup at more than 20 fps. Might have to upgrade my cpu too from a Pentium Sandy Bridge to a used i5-2400/2500/2500k although my Radeon 7750 should be fine at 1600x900. Also PCs with 4gb rams will suffer badly i think so minimum 6gb would be required. Although i am confused why are they still supporting Vista.

No, this game is going on 2 years old now. It is old news. When you brag about graphics someone will say "oh, I played it two years ago so it doesn't matter".

The game is good, I played through it on PS3. The graphics don't make this game, everything else does.

So?

The internet is full of people who say stupid crap.

Why not let the guy enjoy his feeling about the game rather than being such a Debbie Downer in this thread?

I am pretty pumped after seeing that trailer.

I think all things considered (size and scope of the map, accuracy of the locations, quality of the graphics and perhaps most importantly Rockstar's best in class physics system) this is the most technically impressive game ever made.

Old for you maybe, but not for me or anyone else who hasnt played it. And maybe you dont mind looking at cloudy, clumpy, jagged images that are locked at 30 frames, but for some of us those fancy graphics (along with KB+M controls) make all the difference in the world.

As long as they make KB+M controls viable for flying and vehicles, fine. But in GTA IV, I was competitive in local LAN playing with my controller.

Ok it is one thing to have doubts about the port and such, but if you hate gta 5, or you hate its graphics or game play, just GTFO. Go, the door is right there. We don't need your trolling here. None of us care what your thoughts on the game for last gen was 2 years ago.

"this game is old".

Among the games I'm currently playing through, there's Neverwinter Nights (2002), Planescape Torment (2000), Fallout 2 (1999) and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (1999). All these games are head and shoulders above anything on the consoles today. Well, maybe not Neverwinter Nights, it's pretty crappy all things considered. But the rest is awesome.

Graphics don't make a game. The game makes the game.

But in a thread where we discuss graphics... Well, graphics make the graphics.

Ironic that you are actually doing the trolling now. Nobody else was. In a discussion about how a game looks, the age of the engine makes a difference.

The main complaint should be the gameplay. That's what's old imo. But the online and first person mode will mix that up a bit. I played gta 4 with the first person mod and I thought it made the whole game better.
But the running around destroying stuff, outrunning cops, picking up hookers..etc is getting very stale and lacking compared to SA. I'd like to see some skill leveling, ability to get arrested and go to prison then escape or do side missions inside prison. Run a prostitution ring...you know, more interesting and involved side stuff. The SP focus is all about heists which kinda reminds me of Payday a bit but I got bored doing them.

As a SP game, I think many here that never played it will still get bored just as quickly with it. There's only so much you can do and all the fun is with the main storyline. I'm just in it to try it out online and hoping for some good missions to do besides heists.

On the heists in the story, there weren't that many and you had little control over the planning of them.

Ive never had any problems with flying using a KB+M in previous GTA's, but then again Ive never played it competitively, in fact I didnt even know that existed. GTA is the one game series that Ive pretty much ignored the multi-player aspect of them, there is always so much to do with missions and free roaming that I never really bothered with it. Am I missing out?

Exactly. Telling us the age of the game makes NO difference. Telling us who has played it already means NOTHING. Some of us who have waited on this for pc could care less.

We want and will play it on pc. He needs to find something else to do than just plain wanting to be a downer on this.

We get it...........................

GTA 4 had indepth missions and choices in single player, V I suspect is similar with a focus on the heists. Eh? I've replayed IV a few times and it isn't boring (yet anyway). You want to turn GTA into the Witcher which would be interesting but I doubt Rockstar will go for it.

There aren't many heists and you don't have much control. You can pick different crew but honestly it never mattered who I picked. The payout was the same for me each time.

I did 2 heists on the PS3 but once i had the helicopter and explored the whole map, it was kinda game over for me. I didn't even have the patience to travel any other way without it. It started to feel like a shell. GTA 4 had similar effect but I still miss San Andreas mostly because they have done away with a lot and given little since then. No more home burglaries, no more eating too much to get fat, no more sex mini game, no more hydraulics on cars...little things for sure but they kinda made everything more robust. At least they brought back jet fighters but didn't fly one in 5 yet.
I did kinda like the Tennis mini game but it needed some reward, leveling..something.

I think GTA5 has more to do than San Andreas. There is no eating, but you do build stamina from running a lot like exercising, you also build stats from driving and shooting. There's no sex minigame and no hydraulics but you can play a full game of Golf or Tennis. You can go skydiving with atmospheric effects realistic enough that it would probably be terrifying with VR.

And then there's the online component which offers a ton of stuff to do from standard deathmatch, racing, heists, or just free roam and pick people off from the top of buildings etc...
