Looks okay. Looks like an up-resed console game with better textures. Nothing amazing. Maybe its better in motion.

Bummer. I like having my games on Steam, but every time I see a deal on a GTA V pre-order, it's always Rockstar Social Club.

That's still on Steam - the game requires you use Social Club for multiplayer and such, it's built into the game.

No. GTA IV 2008 benchmarks:

http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,...ark-review-with-13-processors/Reviews/?page=2

Dual cores died there and they will die here. I will be very surprised if a tired pentium can crack 30FPS, never mind 60FPS.

Err, most of the quad cores are doing just as bad. The dual cores of today are much faster than the quad cores of yesterday.
(for what it's worth, I just fired up GTA4 on my core i3 computer, it's hitting 60fps at max settings)

Yeah, I know. That's irrelevant to the fact that buying it from somewhere other than Steam won't allow you to activate it on Steam.

Yes.
It.
Will.

You can get it at GreenManGaming for 22% off, and sometimes 27% off.

Indeed you can. But if you buy it from GMG, you will not be able to activate the game in your Steam library. That's the point JujuFish is trying to make. Some people like to have most of their games managed by Steam.

Although his wording was a bit off in saying that Rockstar Social Club is the alternative, because RSC is actually used in all versions of the game; Steam or not. You are correct on this part.

Yeah, this is my bad - didn't realize that GMG wasn't selling Steam codes for this. That's lame as hell.

If its not pushed back yet again, Im not going to get too excited until I get the email with my key in it.

Less than 11 days here accounting for time zone differences. I doubt it will be pushed back with that trailer announcing the date. Hasn't it gone gold by now?

Ya know, I just can't get into GTA games anymore. They were fun back when I was a teen and there was this whole newness and thrill to them, but now they just seem played and the storyline ... it just doesn't even seem appealing anymore.

That said, it does look a little better than the consoles.

By overall standards, the engine isn't really in the same league as Cryengine 3, UE4, or Frostbyte 3 (among others), but it's not far off. But if it manages the complexity of the open world especially under stress of what can occur during the multiplayer in that game, while maintaining 60fps with decent hardware, I think it's great.

It looks great for what it is, being an engine that was not exactly developed with OMG visuals in mind from the start.

I also really, really hope this game natively supports Eyefinity/Surround resolutions. Ooo that would be magnificent. :D

How do you know Rockstars engjne "isnt as good as" those?

That sounds like something you just made up. Especially considering how much it is rendering compared to a Battlefield game.

game just needs to look good enough

openness of the game & the world Rockstar created will more than compensate for whatever the game is lacking in graphics

I understand that. I beat the game on PS3, so its definitely playable without awesome graphics. I was reading through the thread and some were going gaga over the graphics and I just didn't see it.

Interestingly, I "get into" them more now than I did when I was a teen. When I was a teen I'd drive around hitting ramps, shooting people, running from the cops, and would barely ever do a story mission. I don't think I ever beat those games. With GTA5 I actually went straight through the story missions and enjoyed exploring the maps. Completely different experience from when I was a kid. Kind of neat how they cater to both audiences.

Consoles are simply locked to 30fps right? Is that why they bragging so much about it being 60fps on pc?Wonder if its locked at 60fps or is there options for 120/144hz gamers?

Trailer itself looks good, man it has been a long time coming.Getting the game for my bday coming up,so hoping for no more delays.:p Drink some beer and play GTA,all i could ask for on my bday. Well technically it will be after but still.

Yeah, I'm bummed I won't have the game on Steam, but I pre-ordered direct from Rockstar back in January because they had the best in-game deals. :)

It's the first game I pre-ordered in a long while (before that, actually, was the PS3 version! lol), because this game I actually expect will play well from the start. I'd rather not encourage the "must release by this date, bugs or no bugs" mentality, but based on how often this game has been delayed, I expect they have the correct priorities and will release a solid product.

All versions use the Social Club, so I wasn't terribly bothered by not having it on Steam, but still, I wish I could have Steam update the game. Not all of my games are on Steam or Origin, but I'd like to minimize how many are not.

Pre-ordered it myself, its honestly the first game since BF3 that i have done that but BF3 and beta was so smooth that i felt good about it.It's simply the game of the year i have been waiting for.I rarely spend pass $20 on a game but this one should be worth it.

Even got a gtx970 anticipating this game to demand a beast of a card.

How many days prior to the pushback in March did they announce it? I only guessed they did to do more optimizing...as well as competing with the BF Hardline release
