It looks like a completely different game from what I played on the PS3. And given that it's been 18+ months, it will feel fresh again! I just hope it's reasonably well optimized; those shots look like the sort of bullshots that would drag quad Titans into the single digit framerates. But if it looks even half that good and runs on my rig, I'll almost certainly pick it up.

The graphics look to me about on par with Dying Light which ran well for me, especially after reducing draw distance (which was still really far at 0%)

Yeah, but you've got a super high end rig. I'm still on a GTX 680, and I'm content to put off upgrading for as long as possible.

Are you still using 1080p? I can't imagine it should be much of an issue with a 680 at 1080p. It might need something turned down.

Now, of course, this is assuming it is well optimized. This is not a guarantee. However, with these delays, and the fact that it does apparently run well on the x86 consoles, I think they should have it running well on PC.

Its pretty CPU heavy. Have no issues maxing it @ 1200p with a 780 Ti @ 1215MHz and a 5930K @ 3.7Ghz with the odd dip in foliage areas to 40-50 for some reason.

If the port is decent, your GPU is more than capable.

I upgraded to a 970 4 months ago when I decided to push building a gaming PC into 2016, waiting for Skylake's enthusiast parts. Prior to the 970, I had the 7950 which measures ~ up to your 680 and I game @1440p. If you are at 1080p, minimal compromises will let you hang onto that 680 a while longer.

I want to be hyped but I'm still remembering the tiny 2 week gap between previous delay announcements and their announced launch dates.
I'm not complaining about delays, CDPR handles their much better, people were fainting on many forums but both Witcher delays were announced several month before respective launch dates, I wasn't happy but at least they didn't wait until two weeks before the announced launch date to tell everyone about another delay. However this is R* and they don't care.

They sold 45 mil copies, of which 10 was next gen. The game should sell 5 millions quickly to help them break 50 mil but the game is 2 years old and 2 gens of consoles have exposed the game to many that otherwise may have played on the PC. Only the hardcore PC guys like some of us here actually didn't sin and abstained. Even fewer among these few are ones that love the franchise.

I'm expecting to be able to run it at 30fps locked 1080p with everything maxed out except for nvidia-specific fx

Holy crap that will be impressive on PC. I own the 360 and One versions... but damn... That could almost tempt me to part with an additional $60...

No fucking way would I ever buy the same game for 3 systems.......

I've buying it twice, or, I will have bought it twice once it is released for PC. I put it on pre-order in January.

I've owned it since release on PS3, but... that was PS3. And I actually didn't play that much after some time because, well, life took a dive on me.

But I always imagined I would end up getting any possible PC release in the late future, because GTA on PC is vastly superior to console. My group of buddies all agreed and all originally had it on PS3 but ultimately we're all getting it on PC. We started playing GTA multiplayer back when that was brand new. Hopefully there are some good mods, there should be. That's another big draw of it as a PC game.

However, I would have not bought it thrice; if I had the PS3 version and expected a PC release, I would not buy the re-release on PS4/XBONE.

I stopped pre-ordering games a few years ago as they usually do not work properly on release (e.g. GTA IV!) but seriously considering breaking my rule for this one. At least they do seem to be delaying it to make it work properly on release. Right? I know the content will be good, mainly concerned about performance issues. I never even finished GTA IV as it performed so poorly.

Lets hope they don't push it off any longer. The only game I miss from my XBONE is GTAV..

Not surprising^^ PCs have better hardware than consoles. Better graphics are to be expected:p

Not from Rockstart they're not. Rockstar is one of the sheetiest companies ever regarding PC support.

Of those that actually support PC, that is.

What are you talking about? Max Payne 3 is one of the best PC ports ever.

And both Manhunt's. And GTA IV right now is more than playable. Plus all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ they have and the numerous delays it can't be that bad. Day 1 purchase for me - I will never play V on consoles anyway.

But the question still lingers whether GTA V will run fine on Dual Core CPU's if at all it even runs? Will have to wait until launch to find out.

As long as it's not a C2Duo, you're probably fine. Their specs were just saying at least a Q6600 - I doubt they'd alienate people who have i3s and lower-end i5s.

No i mean powerful dual cores like Pentium G3258.

Doable, but it almost surely won't be that great in comparison to faster CPUs.

That chip has great core performance, but with only two cores and no hyperthreading, that does really cut down on potential for any well-threaded game. Most Core i3 chips will exceed what that Pentium can do, simply due to the addition of HT.

You have to OC to 4.8Ghz to even reach the performance of i3s.

Is Steam the only place to get the Steam version for this?

Correct. Usually you can't purchase Steam versions of Rockstar games outside of Steam itself. (There've been a few rare exceptions, like when Amazon has had Steam keys for GTAIV on sale for cheap.)

Bummer. I like having my games on Steam, but every time I see a deal on a GTA V pre-order, it's always Rockstar Social Club.
