I bet there will be a crack on torrents b4 official release, qq

Assuming the crack actually works and doesn't break something 20hrs in and assuming the inevitable patches are properly cracked and properly update 60GB of files with the right pointers and assuming Rockstar hasn't stuck a giant unkillable scorpion and stuck elevator into the code somewhere (hint, hint) and assuming the .rar's don't have CRC errors on the 50th part and assuming

See DA Inquisition - still hasn't been cracked properly and you simply can't import saves. Hardline (for those care HA) hasn't either. It gets to the point where paying is just easier. Usually. Ubisoft likely exempted.

I already paid but it sometimes sucks when pirates get the game first. I think when that happens the company should just release the game immediately

steam has worked on multiple drives for awhile now, very simple to set up a steam folder on any drive you want. SSD or HDD.
Haven't been paying attention apparently. Thanks for the info. :) I might install GTA 5 on a separate SSD then.

On a different matter: I hope the view distance is better this time. In previous games the "radius" in which people and cars were spawned and active was a little small. If a car or pedestrian got too far away from the player then they would suddenly evaporate in thin air. Hope the game is able to sustain at least 60fps with a long view distance.

Does it even matter?

Maybe for about 2 minutes, but after I'm playing the game I just don't notice the graphical improvements. We're not talking Atari to PC '15 graphics, but PS4 to PC '15. These are really incremental differences, and would you even notice them when playing? I seriously doubt it. You'd be too involved within the game to really notice.

Unless were talking a huge leap in graphical improvements I don't think it really matters.

Got my key from Green Man Gaming yesterday but didnt check my email till this morning. Downloading now from Rockstar and it is a 60.4GB file, thankful that I now have a fiber connection with no caps. :)

Oh it matters, don't know if you played the PS3 or PS4 version but certainly there will be a major difference between PS3 and PC surely.

What matters to me graphics wise is that it looks "good enough", has good view distance and that the fps is a constant 60+. The latter is really important, because regular drops in fps are highly noticeable. Mai72 has a point about just the graphics quality itself though, that your focus on it "fades away" when you get into the game.

I haven't played the console version, so I have no basis of comparison.

Anyone know if there's a GMG coupon coming soon for this game? I missed the 27% off from last month and can't live with myself since then...

Exactly my point. People make such a big deal about the graphics, but after playing for a while those amazing graphics fade away. I remember playing Madden a long time ago and seeing my players blow smoke in the cold. Or when the playing field changed from green to a muddy brown during rain. Now? Stuff like that doesn't excite me anymore. I've gotten used to it.

How about when you first fired up Skyrim? Amazing, no? Do you feel the same way? What would be really exciting if they could work on the AI so it has more human like qualities.

No one in the thread is playing it (legally) - we're all just preloading it to our PCs for release.

I have no doubts that GTA V will be pirated, it might even become the most pirated game of all times. I can see that coming.

HOWEVER, Rockstar sure already made a lot of money from this game and I also know that many who own the game for console already AND also own a PC actually purchase the PC version too..so many people will own the game multiple times.

Amazing graphics never fade away for me. I'm still in awe over the lighting in ShadowFall. Skyrim default looked like poo back then. With ENB and texture mods it looked amazing when it became available and still the same jaw drop today. The A.I. is still far superior to the old Turok 2 A.I. that most games still use.
GTA 5 has little in the way of A.I. Worse than most games but the emotion engine does great physical responses to the players actions. Now if only they could add destructible buildings

Fighting over whether or not I should pre-order. Basically it comes down to the extra million and change you get if you pre-order. To those that have already played it, is that much extra cash worth pre-ordering?

If you're going to buy the game anyway, it's probably beneficial to pre-order it because why not get a bonus for something you're going to get anyway? If you're on the fence about whether you'll buy it, I solidly recommend the single-player campaign; it's one of the best games I've ever played. However, the multiplayer component is the least fun I have ever had in any video game in my entire life. Given that the $1,000,000 bonus is almost surely for GTA Online, I don't know that I'd consider it a great incentive; even if it were real money, that's a bad deal for being forced into the existential hell of GTAO. But, again, if you're thinking about buying it anyway, get the pre-order so that if you decide to get into GTAO you have a nice cash base to start from, and in the mean time you can enjoy the best single-player game in years.
