GasBuddy.com says the cheapest in town is $1.96 and the closest to me is $2.07.

I wonder how long this will last?

I don't really notice gas prices. Gasoline is such a small part of my monthly expenses that whether it's 2 or 4 dollars, it doesn't impact me in any meaningful way. Of course, I only drive about 200 miles a week.

It's impossible not to have noticed gas prices during the past year if for no other reason than everyone's constantly talking about gas prices.

No kidding. Hell, I probably don't even drive 30 miles per week (and drive a car that gets pretty close to that per gallon highway) and I still notice gas prices.

Saw it for $1.59 last night here in the Kansas City area

Ah, we should probably seeing a price drop here sometime soon then as it tends to flow this way and they've only dropped it about $0.10 in the past month or so (was dropping about that every few days for a while there).

Food prices seem to have risen lately, so I'm curious to see if we'll see anything there. Seems like bad timing for DHL to drop out of American deliveries. That and the stupid car commercials complaining about gas prices.

I can seriously cut back on food (I have lost 19 lbs. since July).

I have little to no control as to how much gas I use.

So, I rather have higher food prices and lower gas prices than the reverse (at least in theory).

$1.98 in Raleigh, NC

With my daily commute being 35 miles each way, even with a Mazda 3 this is making a noticeable difference. Where it was costing me around $50 to fill up when prices were at their peak, now it's only like $25. I usually fill up once a week.

As for food, I thought some of the price climb we've seen on food lately was due to the price of gas? Is that going to start coming down now? Our food bill has gotten out of control.

$1.97 at Costco in Vallejo, CA earlier today for Octane 87. 91 was $2.27 (cheapest in the Bay Area). Couple that with AMEX 5% cashback on gas = ~1.87/gal (last time it was this low was in 04 iirc)

fwiw - I just filled-up(the first time in a month) for $2.16 in Boston.

You said that not me but it will certainly crank back up on any one of the bag of excuses they have such as summer blend, refinery explosion, storm 3,000 miles away etc etc.

I just filled up at $1.85, wow I should buy an Escalade right away right?

$1.84 here.

I just got a Grand Cherokee but my assumption the gas would go up to at LEAST $3/gal so I got it knowing prices are going to get worse.

If gas hits $5/gal or more I might sell it but doubtful.

If it hits $5/gal, you won't be able to give that thing away.

prius owners crying lol:)

I get better gas mileage than a Prius, and I'm not crying. It still saves me money overall. :D

I could go to work and back for 2.5 months on a tank(10 gal).

20$ for gas getting to/from work every 2.5mo FTW!

Moped?

Heh, my car can get better gas mileage than a Moped.. That's pretty funny.

See sig.

Eh? The Insight gets phenomenal mileage, but mopeds get like 100-150mpg...

You probably do get better mileage than my motorcycle, mind you; that's around 55-60mpg. A Ninja 250 will be around 70.

Of course, you get cargo area and a roof, but you're also not as fast.;)

Still, great car. My car is starting to show signs of its age, and I'm contemplating snapping up a used Insight while the gas prices are low and they don't command a premium.

$2.53 for 91 octane (CA's premium) in So Cal yesterday.

EDIT: This was at a Mobil. I'm sure Costco gas will be cheaper.
