I've tried android. Ive owned a Droid X and a Galaxy tab. Can you say the same about Apple? Or did you just play with your friends phone for a while? You also spew a bunch of vitriol about the HTC one when you made a thread about the GS4 vs. HTC one. I doubt you have even used one beyond the 5 minutes at a kiosk. There are so many people like you on this forum. You have no idea what you are talking about yet you think you have some authority on this subject. You are making calls on your phone for 150 minutes a month. The 5 minutes you spend a week calling dominoes to get a pizza delivered to your parents basement doesn't make you an authority on dropped calls.

Or maybe I have Verizon that has good service in my area.I can't tell you how horrible att and sprint are here and every person I know hates there carriers and is why most people use Verizon .

I'm up to 170 min with 12 days left on my bull ng cycle and Verizon to Verizon doesn't take up any air time so who knows how many I really have.please tell me what is bothering you and what exactly don't I have an idea of? I offered the op 140 bucks to prove his issues with his gs4 and he to this day has not even proved he owned the phone.

If your wondering I had an iPhone 3gs and iPhone 4 along with a droid, droid x,nexus and gs3.

All of them except the I phones had great service without dropping calls but when I had the I phones I was on att and the network in my area sucked and is why I brought up the ops service if he is dropping calls.

My offer still stands 100 bucks for a video showing his gs4 needing to have the battery pulled like he says in the first post

In my particular case they don't. I never, EVER had any problems with my iPhone 4s.
The only thing that ever happened is that it froze. ONCE. That was back when I just got it. But after this, never a single glitch for 2 years! Never a slowdown, never a delay, never a hiccup.

Wait a minute, so in your opinion the reason why the iPhone feels like a toy to you is because of the small screen and buttons? I said the GS4 feels like a toy sometimes because functionally, it is one, a lot more than being a phone. What you are saying is very different.
I can spend the whole hour that I am on a train coming back from work just fiddling with GS4's options... But when I simply need to make a call, it MAY fail me occasionally. So whats better? a myriad options or being able to call someone 100% of the time you try?

This pretty nicely sums why I believe the iPhone to be a superior product, although my Note 2 /CM10.1 is not bad by any stretch, and while it falls short in touch responsiveness, with cm 10.1 I actually can't say that the UI / basic apps are worse. Spen + media consumption is better due to beautiful screen (when calibrated).

However if were talking about TouchWiz / stock I agree that Samsung is far behind on the experience.

It took me way too much time to make my Note 2 a workable device (root, unlock, debloat, twz roms, twz kernels, finally settling on cm10.1/aosp kernel). Although to be fair I'm a first time android customer, so my understanding of the customization landscape was poor.

I would never recommend a Samsung device stock in its current form, not because of the plastic (although the phone does feel cheaper than it should), but because of how fucking awful touchwiz functions and looks. The constant lagging when multitasking, and the inconsistent design language were a shock coming from ios.

I have more than 200 iPad2's at work that I setup, and each one.. invariably.. regardless of iOS version.. stutters when you swipe left to bring up the search box.

I notice it if I go to the spotlight search and I haven't done it in a while. I think Apple kills a process or something related to the spotlight search, like an indexing or something, and it starts it up again when you go to the spotlight search.

It doesn't bother me, but I do notice it. But it's usually fine after the first time for about an hour or so, then it'll do it again. It's way faster on the iPhone 5 though. Practically seamless, which it should be. It doesn't effect me, since the only time I even go to the spotlight screen is if I'm a little overzealous with my swipes and blow past the first screen. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've actually used spotlight.

Seems like a storage I/o issue. Same happens on my note when swiping from apps to widgets.

As someone who picked up an S4 the other day, right now I'd have to recommend people either get something else, or wait a month or 2. There are some lag issues that need to be worked out.

My Note 1 was the same way. I was told "no biggie, root it and install a custom rom and it'll go away" Lucky for me I knew how do that, sucks for the 95% of Note owners who wouldn't have a fucking clue about either.

I hear using a different launcher fixes the lag.
When the pre-release videos showed noticeable lag everyone said the final release software will fix it, now people are saying a different launcher will fix it. Touchwiz is just a pig. All the extra processing power the S4 has over the N4 is just obliterated (and then some) by Samsung's crappy software. The Nexus 4 is 6 months old and half the price and is still faster than the S4

High comedy. My wife has an iPhone 5, had a 4 before that. I can make it lag every single day by doing simple things like swiping over to the keyboard search or scrolling a long list. What's App froze and crashed this morning and she gave me the phone not knowing what to do.

That you can claim to have a 100% perfect experience on the iPhone for 2 years and the worst experience ever on an S4 in a few days just shows blatant bias dude.

The S4 hardware wise is a fine device, but software wise not so much. The stock Android is crap. I've only had the S2 and it did the same thing. Froze, required a battery removal multiple times. The custom ROM helped a bit, but the overall experience with the phone was negative. And yes, my friend stock S3 does the same thing. It's just the gay software.

I have had the S1, S2, S3 and can say with 100% honesty, I never had to pull the battery on any of them. Ever. In the many years of phone usage I can say I have had less than 5 dropped calls in 5-7 years. Lagging? Yes, the S1 is a lag fest. S2 and S3 can lag, as any phone can, but my iphone 5 is a super lagfest. Moreso than my S3. When I updated ios to 6.1.3. it made my iphone 4 pretty useless and my iphone 5 is about as slow as my S2. Go figure.

My S3 has been solid except for one ROM which used to lock up frequently, Samsung released a fix pretty quickly and it's been solid since. Maybe his friend had that dodgy Rom?

Iphone is still superior, IMO. It's just missing the nice large screen and the customization that Android offers. I haven't tried the Galaxy S4 yet, but there are enough comments in the thread here that make me a believer. Apple really needs to take a hint and make a phone in the same form-factor as the S4. 5" screen is what they need.

I would probably choose a 5"-5.5" iPhone over my note II, although with CM10.1 the Note II is quite excellent.

I have no lag with my new S4, after turning off the 3 animation settings under Developer options. Did you do that???

In the TechnoBuffalo link each of the S4 photo has a dark upper left corner. Why is that?

Yes, let's turn off animations so all we get is the redraw instead of animation lag, because that's always been the solution to stutters.
