Can't attest to the S4, but my Nexus 4 had call drops during the first couple days of usage. Calls would drop off somewhere between 5~10 minutes of the conversations. The symptom disappeared afterwards and at the time I was trying to setup google voice with groove IP so I didn't give much thought. (as well as transition to T-Mobile from AT&T)

So in my case just about every variable changed - hardware, OS, carrier, protocol for calling - and it's hard to pinpoint where the culprit was. But I did experience call drops as well as constant battery drain with my N4 in the first days. Both the issues were gone without any troubleshooting in the next days.

Remember when all you android users jumped all over Steve Jobs when he said 'You're holding it wrong?'

Every single one of you jump all over any (non-existent) problem when it comes to Apple products. Yet when it comes to android, the problem is the user. Never the beloved OS or phone. Pot, meet kettle.

The converse is true as well, but you won't acknowledge that, to be sure.

The bold part is interesting and clearly points to your glaringly obvious bias. iPhones and iOS never have any real problems?

He did acknowledge it. He was saying that it's a situation of the pot calling the kettle black :)

Funny... I used an iPhone 4 a few days ago, and it felt like a toy compared to my Galaxy S3. The screen is so small, the buttons are so tiny, and the interface still looks like something from 2007!

sorry, I don't get why you got the GS4 if you are OK with the sealed battery and no SD slot in the iPhone. those are two of the GS4's biggest advantages over the HTC One - which is awesome & bloat free :D

I hope you didn't use the stock SG3, because if you did you by law shouldn't be able to talk about any other products UI. Nothing is worse than Touchwiz.

Nope I never said that. There are many problems and deficiencies in iOS. I was referring to 'antennagate' and the often used Steve Jobs quote in this forum 'You're holding it wrong'. I had the iPhone 4 for 2 years, with a droid X mixed in there for a couple months. I logged over 24,000 calling minutes on that device. I can easily say that it was a non-issue for me 99% of the time. I would seriously question anyone that says their iPhone 4 drops a billion calls. However I would never stoop to the level where they would have to post proof for me to believe them.

We have a big boy in this thread who logs 150 minutes / month (that's like 5 minutes a day guys) and thinks he has some authoritative voice on dropped calls when it comes to Samsung products. OP could NEVER be telling the truth he says! I call someone for 5 minutes a day and I have NEVER had a call drop! Proof or you are a liar! I need pictures or you are full of BS! We have about 4 more people in here doing the same thing. They think he conjured up all these problems. He is out to get their beloved company. Even if he posted pictures of his issues they would still find some reason to discredit him. They question why he even bought one. They question that he even owns the phone! It is so ridiculous. This forum is a big android love fest. It's even worse when the android phone in question is a Samsung product.

I rarely post in this forum anymore. Its a wasteland full of the same people posting the same crap. This thread was just pure gold and I had to point that out.

The reason you never post here isn't that it's a wasteland, it's because of all the infractions and warnings you pick up here trolling.

Ironic considering you are quite the samsung cheerleader in this forum.

I have 2 infractions. I have never been told to stop posting here. I stopped on my own free will. There is hardly a useful post here anymore. This forum is a perfect example of the hive-mind mentality where no opposing viewpoints will ever be heard. Its like a really really bad version of reddit.

I like the S2 and the S3, is there a problem with that?

So if you dislike it so much... whats that phrase....?

Oh yeah.

I've tried android. Ive owned a Droid X and a Galaxy tab. Can you say the same about Apple? Or did you just play with your friends phone for a while? You also spew a bunch of vitriol about the HTC one when you made a thread about the GS4 vs. HTC one. I doubt you have even used one beyond the 5 minutes at a kiosk. There are so many people like you on this forum. You have no idea what you are talking about yet you think you have some authority on this subject. You are making calls on your phone for 150 minutes a month. The 5 minutes you spend a week calling dominoes to get a pizza delivered to your parents basement doesn't make you an authority on dropped calls.

Yep, I buy all tech, not just Android or iOS. My desk has a 4G iPad, Nexus 7, iP5, and Note 2, all sitting next to each other. So far, none of them have caused any bloodshed. But I'm keeping an eye on the Note 2, because once every few days it reboots itself for no apparent reason. "I'm watching you, you little ah heck." :p

I wont believe you about the note 2 until you post a youtube video and 3 pictures verifying that you are the true owner of the note 2. Until then you are a LIAR!!!! :p

iPhones and iOS never have any real problems?

In my particular case they don't. I never, EVER had any problems with my iPhone 4s.
The only thing that ever happened is that it froze. ONCE. That was back when I just got it. But after this, never a single glitch for 2 years! Never a slowdown, never a delay, never a hiccup.

Funny... I used an iPhone 4 a few days ago, and it felt like a toy compared to my Galaxy S3. The screen is so small, the buttons are so tiny, and the interface still looks like something from 2007!

Wait a minute, so in your opinion the reason why the iPhone feels like a toy to you is because of the small screen and buttons? I said the GS4 feels like a toy sometimes because functionally, it is one, a lot more than being a phone. What you are saying is very different.
I can spend the whole hour that I am on a train coming back from work just fiddling with GS4's options... But when I simply need to make a call, it MAY fail me occasionally. So whats better? a myriad options or being able to call someone 100% of the time you try?

I haven't had a major problem using iOS, Android since Jellybean (not specifically the SGS4, though), or Windows Phone on any of the devices I've used.

People make a lot of noise about features and drawbacks of these phones, but they all work pretty well now, are relatively smooth and stable, and have good cameras. They do all make tradeoffs either in features, design, materials, battery life, processing power, screen size, cost, OS flexibility, weight, etc that it's hard to definitively say one is the best. It really comes down to personal use and preferences.

Faster low-power CPUs, more efficient high resolution/PPI displays, better batteries, and other improvements are making all the major smartphone lines better each year, though, so usually the very latest generation of phones will be on the top.
