That.

I get up to 45 months of it. Includes like $925/month and tuition waiver. (I think they pay for books too)

BUT, that's AFTER I get the certificate for that shit. Paperwork takes fucking forever with the VA... They're really a PIA when it comes to this shit.

Your tuition/books are going to be paid for by the VA?

Wow, your life really does suck...

That sounds pretty awesome... I never had that when I went to college. Though I did have a scholarship that my parents started when I was born, but in the end it was technically just them paying part of my college, which I'm glad as it helped, but they could have chosen not to do it. In fact I had lot of extra cash in my last year so I just gave them the rest of the scholarship money as they wanted to do renovations.

What you have sounds like it's the government paying. I would definably not complain about that even if it's a pita to get. And pays books... sometimes books are more then the actual tuition.

Assuming it goes through. We have to prove we are washington state residents to my college and that's actually impossible for us because my parents did not change their drivers licenses to washington ones until maybe 6 months ago at best... They also didn't do that for their registration of their cars.. >_< They didn't register to vote... Yeah, we don't have anything to prove we've been living here. This is the requirements for my school basically:

DEPENDENT STUDENTS
Requires 1 of these stupid documents below.

qAttach a copy of your parent/guardian’s income tax return (first and signature pages only)**
qAttach proof of your parent/guardian’s presence in Washington for the last 12 months (mortgage closing statement or lease or letter from landlord on business letterhead).* (We lived with my half-brother/sister-in-laws shithole for a long time, we can just do a notarized letter.. So we're good here)
Then there's more you must have!
In addition, you must attach THREE documents from the list below dated a minimum of 12 months prior to the first day of the quarter for which you apply for reclassification:
qParent/guardian’s Washington driver’s license or Washington ID card (They did this maybe 6 months ago at best)
qParent/guardian’s Washington motor vehicle registration (not title) (Same as above)
qParent/guardian’s Washington voter registration card (Never registered)
qParent/guardian’s location of checking and savings accounts indicating Washington address and date accounts were opened in Washington (They didn't open any in Washington, but they've kept the same ones?)
qParent/guardian’s evidence of employment in Washington state (Both retired)

Oh yeah, it SUCKS when you have to work to get your free $40,000+.

You are the biggest whiner on these forums since CallTheFBI. Your life isn't perfect, far from it, and you WOULD be entitled to complaints if you ever showed effort to change your own circumstances.

I wonder why?

Oh now I get it.

It's because:

You sound like a whiny bitch.

You got food, internet, free rent, education. Your parents should throw you out of the house. Then you see the real world.

called out by Rolo.

this is seriously low.

This is assuming I even get the money. It is not guaranteed at this point.

If only they doled out this money based on how deserving the kid is instead of the parent. Your dad earned that money for you, you've done nothing for it.

I can think of dozens of people who deserve that more than you, people who are working right now to pull themselves up by their bootstraps despite all odds, and who will never have the benefit you will likely get.

I wish the VA would turn around and give your money to the girl I know who was orphaned at 13, made a ward of the state, graduated high school at 17 and put herself through college one babysitting job at a time because she had no adults in her life to help her our. Or the guy I know who was born with fetal alcohol syndrome and has struggled his whole life to adapt socially but who does more volunteer work than anyone I've ever met and always with a cheerful attitude. Or the high school teacher I know who chooses to work at the district's most difficult school despite the lower pay and the crushing student debt.

THOSE people deserve a break; you don't deserve a penny, especially with your smarmy attitude toward your veteran disabled dad who made this opportunity possible for you.

Not everyone is born with a perky, highly-motivated, and dedicated personality. I happen to be the reverse of all of those.

Then do something about it.

Look, you have a choice here. You can either wallow in the combination of self-pity, self-hatred, and self-loathing that you currently exist in, or you can do something about it. Honestly, it makes no difference what the something is, it just matters that you put one foot in front of the other and carry on with your life.

You might not consider yourself motivated, but one day you're going to realize three very important things.

1) Your life is yours. It belongs to you and that includes the successes and the failures. You must own what you do.

2) You only get one shot at this. There is no reset or undo button.

3) Action, any action, is better than inaction. Moving forward always brings new opportunities and new possibilities and the sooner you act, the sooner your life will change.

If you can respond to a post like Areacode's with a post like that, then you're no better than your brother. At the rate you're going, you're doomed to be like him. Think about that.

Not really... I'll never be fat, have an illegitimate kid(Never gonna get laid anyway!), and won't be living with my parents when I am 26.

I think this is your only hope...

...start a business that cuts small things very precisely. I don't think such business exists maybe there's a demand for things that need to be cut very precisely with a razor blade.

You remind me of a friend of mine. Except he's not a whiny bitch; he's just a skinny little programmer with low self-esteem. He's also a black belt in taekwondo (he can kick my ass and I outweigh him by at least 20lbs). He's gotten laid, but he still doesn't know how to talk to girls, since the one time he had sex happened when he was drunk (liquid courage ftw).

You know what I keep telling him? Get involved in something. Work out. Talk to girls like they're people instead of walking vaginas. Your brother is living with your parents, has an illegitimate kid, and is a fatass because he has no direction and no motivation in life. FIND SOME. This time last year, I was a skinny bastard with a bit of a gut. I started working out 3x a week - running perhaps a mile on the track and lifting weights, nothing too strenuous. I've been keeping it up for 3 months and I can see some major improvements - I get constant glances from girls on campus, I feel more confident, and I don't let little things in life get me down. Instead of bitching about how much your life sucks on a forum, do something about it.

This is the third time I've posted the same fucking advice in this thread - advice from my own experiences which has helped me greatly. I'm not going to repeat myself again, because I'm becoming convinced that you're a sad little troll.

Ugh. Someone hack this loser's system and set it on fire (somehow). OP: shut the fuck up.
