Get a shitty apartment with some roommates like all the other college kids do. Even a part time job at McDonalds would be enough to pay a couple hundred $$ a month for a shitty place.

Wow. 50k a year. Heh... Both myself and my wife survived on walmart-class jobs for 2 years while I went to school full time, while not living with parents. It's completely doable, so no pity from me.

Why do you give a shit how your brother runs/ruins his life? Are you jealous you didn't come up with this plan first? That's about the only reason I could see for your anger, and frankly there's nothing to bitch about there. I can see how it would suck watching people live like that, it's annoying. But it's nothing to get bent out of shape about. You're on your own path in life, you sound like you're making some good decisions - so screw your brother. Ignore him. There's no reason not to except for the aforementioned reason.
