Surprised this didn't make it into this thread. Looks like the FBI broke up a kidnapping plot that they had a hand in or encouraging the formulation.

Looks like you're extremely gullible. It also looks like they got some big money backers for their legal defense fund.

This is the defense of last resort every time someone gets busted in a sting by the FBI.

You mean like the "Muslim extremists" that was provoked and coerced into planting a fake bomb by our government officials. You mean like that one?

No of course not, you draw special exceptions for those.

I believe the FBI could take it too far, but most of the time it's just a defense of last resort.

if you were around when the FBI was targeting black civil rights leaders, we know you would have been rooting them on. we know how you feel about black people getting that equal opportunity.

now that we are here 60 years later and your kind are trying to kidnap governors, now you have issues with the FBI catching them.

cockroach logic.

I read the first article. It is a summary of a motion filed in court by one of the defendant's attorneys. Which predictably outlines an entrapment defense.

An attorney's argument is news, but something to be viewed with healthy skepticism. I recommend waiting until more facts come out.

Before you start whipping out your dick in public I suggest a few more reputable sources otherwise you may be the victim of a lot of snickering.

The article doesn't say what you think it says. At all. Does it question how far the accused would have gone without proofing? Yes. Does it lay a definitive claim with damning evidence that the original plot originated within the fbi? Far, far from it.
The accused will argument entrapment, and it will be up to the government to defend against that.

A little education on entrapment.

The key aspect of entrapment is this: Government agents do not entrap defendants simply by offering them an opportunity to commit a crime. Judges expect people to resist any ordinary temptation to violate the law. An entrapment defense arises when government agents resort to repugnant behavior such as the use of threats, harassment, fraud, or even flattery to induce defendants to commit crimes.

Merely presenting someone with an opportunity does not qualify.

Agreed. Entrapment is their only possible defense, so of course they'll use it. Meanwhile, the accused are enjoying three hots & a cot at taxpayers' expense. Even if found innocent, they pay a steep penalty for being complete idiots.
