I mean what was the plan. Let’s assume they successfully kidnapped the Governor. Let’s assume they storm and capture the State House.
What is the next step? Do they really think all lawmakers & law enforcement would be like “well they did capture the castle...”
Did they think there wouldn’t be a Federal Response? Do they think they could issue laws and direct enforcement of those laws?

Really bad plan. They may have planned the kidnapping well but they ignored all the next steps.
They were going to take her to Wisconsin for a "trial." It is in the court docs.

6 perps kind of makes it harder to trot out the lone wolf, mentally unstable trope this time.
Trump has trotted out a lot of the mentally unstable. You know, birds of a feather....

Then what? What is the next step.
I get the “trial” so they charge and convict her and I assume kill her. What are the next steps?

If she drowns, she would be found innocent and free to go. If she swims, guilty and stoned to death. That is how I assume a trial by these lunatics would go.

I was avoiding this story as I knew it would be disturbing and I was right. Sherriff dar leaf defending them was particularly concerning. Best I can tell he was reelected back in 2016 so hopefully he is up again gets the boot.

Whenever a sheriff ends up as a guest speaker at a protest against the Governor they're in dereliction of their duty. Well, unless they're persuading the crowd to follow public health orders, which he likely wasn't. His remarks about the arrests verify his "Patriot" credentials.

Most sheriffs, unfortunately, run unopposed and can be re-elected many times. They are some of the most powerful local politicians. It amazes me how most do not realize this part of our “system” is very broken.

Entire Sheriff System is obsolete and should be abolished. They have no purpose other than to siphon tax payer money and *some* bring over sized attitudes. They perform no function the State Police couldn’t handle better, cheaper and faster.

Sooooo .... The sheriff of a southern Michigan county is uncertain that the terrorists were terrorists and may have been acting legally.

On a hunch, I decided to see if he was one of those “ constitutional sheriffs”. You know, the ones that the Bundy’s and other militiamen and SovCit types laud as the “highest office in the land”.
Surprise Surprise, he’s not only a constitutional sheriff, he’s a bigwig constitutional sheriff. Their national Man of the Year in 2016.

Lol! .. Makes you wonder if he was involved in some way

That's why I wish I could've seen it play out, with out any innocents being injured.

Flipping by Fox, Hannity was screaming about Joe Biden accusing Trump of fomenting the crap that caused the Michigan 13 to get arrested, without any basis. Basis? How about the all caps tweet LIBERATE MICHIGAN. Funny, these guys started getting their plans together shortly after.

I'm no fan of Barr, but the FBI usually compartmentalizes this stuff & plays it close to the vest for opsec. It's entirely reasonable that he may not have known at the time of the interview. It's important to remember that the FBI keeps tabs as well as they can over an unfortunately large number of far right whackaloo organizations. Back in the 60's, the joke was that there were more FBI informants in the Klan than actual Klansmen.
As new details emerge about this plot, it appears they intended to also target law enforcement and government officials they perceived as being in violation of the Constitution, with the intent of starting a civil war. These militia groups have been around for a while and have no Constitutional basis to exist, but seem eager to exploit to current climate to further their own goals. It’s also worth mentioning that it was the “fascist” Feds who uncovered and moved to neutralize this threat.

Anybody who identifies as a Democrat, progressive or otherwise sane independent should go buy guns and train with them asap.

Just No. Ballots are the answer.
I never said not to vote first, but having a backup defense plan is still smart. I'm not sure what reality you are watching but you have right wingers assassinating protesters, cops, plotting to overthrow state governments. I'm not sure if you've taken a history course lately, but the past is littered with the violent overthrow of government. And let's not forget, the Republicans are poised to steal a legitimate election and rule by coup if that's needed to maintain control of power.
