I have about 40 hours into the game so far and here are my observations.
1. I am a slave to settlements. I have 15 settlements and all of them are tricked out with tons of food, shelter, entertainment, stores and defense. Close to 90% of my game time is to go out and wipe out raiders, gunners and super mutants just to get more supplies for my settlements. I don't even know why I am doing this or what the point of settlements are but I can't stop, it's like a crack addiction. Preston wants me to go discover another settlement? LEZ DO EET!
2. Companions are my infinite bag of holding. The only reason I bring my companion is to hold all my crap after I wipe out an area so I don't get over loaded. If my companions are overloaded? No problem, I just command them to loot bodies or loot things and they work just fine.
3. I've modded my armor for deep pockets to hold more stuff... for my settlements.
4. Dead bodies in settlements. These never go away. Even if I drag them around to areas not visible, they eventually come back.
5. Friend or foe? I would estimate over half of my quickloads are due to me accidentally killing a friendly NPC amid a firefight against bad guys and me wondering what the heck happened. Explosive rounds, grenades, missile launchers and fat mans are not usable when you want to be careful who you want to kill. Lesson learned, definitely don't use these to defend your own settlements and end up killing almost all the settlement stuff and 2/3 of your settlers.
6. Is power armor a thing? The upkeep of maintaining one and the fusion core charge needed just seems such a waste. Right now, Sanctuary is my power armor storage where I just have them out for display rather than for any meaningful use.
More to come.
