I've only worn it once, when I had to go to the Glowing Sea for the main story quest. I donned a suit of T-45 I had sitting around and packed a 5mm legendary gattling and 2000 rounds of 5mm

Now THAT was an exciting part of FO4 I wish there was a little more of! I was hoping for something a little closer to "just after the war" to experience severe radiation issues... (hence the name, "Fallout"???) Those radiation storms should've dissipated after two hundred years... maybe every single bomb was laced with cobalt or something. ;)

I went out in just my environment suit and, as expected, found another power armour out there in the storm. I'm up to about eight suits now. :D

Long HDMI. Gonna play from the television. And my LaZboy.

OK, it looks good. Fun times.

Started moving seriously on the main quest, and exploring a few parts of the map that I have missed. Think it's about time to move onto another game and then come back to this one in a few months and mod the hell out of it.

Hopefully some modder gives us a drivable vehicle so that we can drive through the gigantic holes in the main quest's plot.

New patch came out in the past few days. Didn't realize. It's downloading now, looks pretty big.

Ok I have a very silly question. Shouldn't the PipBoy be a little more advanced in it's display? I mean like shouldn't it be with a full HD display with more than 16k colors and all that? We are in the future with a robot as a servant, shouldn't the PipBoy display be gorgeous?

50s tech, but advanced, makes sense.

Did you not watch the intro video the first time you started a new game in Fallout 4?

To clarify what the others are saying, Fallout has been about the 50's idea of the future from the very first version of the game. Lots of things are intentionally chunky and crude for that reason. Just about everything in the game, cars, appliances, toys, houses, fits with that theme.

The Pip Boy is no exception. If you pay close attention to the boot screen, it says it has 64K of RAM, with 42K free. It's deliberately patterned after the first generation of mass market computers, such as the Apple II and Commodore 64. (There were prior things like the Altair and Heathkit H8, both those were strictly hobbyist machines). It's "futuristic" because it's small enough to wear on your wrist, instead of taking up a whole room.

Technology evolved differently in the Fallout universe. For example, transistors in that universe were only invented in 2067.

Shit. Yeah. (smacks head) That was pretty dumb of me. I just got a little confused when I spoke to a robot with such complex AI and then opened up the map on my pipboy, it just didn't go together. But meh, I get your point.

Could also be that the update has prep for the Automatron DLC. Which is supposed to release sometime in March.

I can't see the survival changes requiring new art assets, and 600 MB isn't just code.

Ha- I just found the boy stuck in the refrigerator. LOL But of coarse the power armor close to him in the water is garbage and only 2 pieces. I have no luck with that stuff- maybe because I only have luck at level 3.

That's part of the underlying comic absurdity of the whole Fallout world. It's baked into pretty much everything you see and do, from the architectural style to the wording on the advertisements and in the books.

What does it contain?

Release notes according to the Fallout wiki:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout_4_patch_1.4

Looks like a progress and bridge patch. Big things seem to be decorative items for settlements.

Concerning the leaked details about the new Survival mode. It kind of had me until the part about enemies spawning even slower... If that's true, there's no point. I play my level 105 character to loot and kill more things. By the sounds of it, I'll be spending most of my time opening my inventory and mashing food/water.

"Support for Add-Ons" is probably what I said earlier - art need for the Automatron DLC. Maybe for Wasteland Workshop as well. Probably not Far Harbor.

I notice they said there's a results dialog for a failed Settlement defense. I haven't played recently, I'm curious what it looks like.

I do think that sooner or later they need to address how much the Stealth effect screws things up for the player. I gave up on Chameleon armor because it made it impossible to aim with most weapons and made the Pip Boy invisible.

That seems kind of the opposite what should be implemented in Survival mode, would you not think that you would want more enemies?

Funny thing is, I'd rather enemies respawned slower, period. Not because of difficulty, but because it breaks immersion for me that I'll clear out a major hub and it's re-infested with Gunners or Raiders a day or two later. It makes me feel like I'm not really making a difference.

Absolutely agreed. On a related note: getting sent back to clear the enemies from a spot four or five times during the game is similarly disheartening.

Haha. The other night I was threading my way through some ruins in downtown following the Freedom Trail when Dogmeat barked, I got the message that he'd found something, and he ran off. I followed him and the little bastard ran like two blocks to some building and then up the stairs. Took me a half hour to find the trail again. I think I got a wonderglue, though.

I agreed up until I finished the game. After that, it turned into Diablo III or World of Warcraft for me, and I want high-leveled things to kill... It ain't happening now because some places remain permanently cleared and sometimes groups don't respawn even after I've done the entire Commonwealth circuit.
