My money is on that he doesn't come right out and say it's a hoax by the Democrats to make him look bad but absolutely says that at his rally tonight. Or he'll let his mob yell it out, and he'll smile that smarmy smile and say "Who knows, who knows. could be anyone... Many people say that's possible, but you know, we should be careful... but you may be right., no one knows for sure..."

It might not be a copycat, so much as a "good intent."
"Suspicious package" runs are a frequent occurrence every day for Police/Fire agencies all over the US. Most turn out to be benign/unexpected/unnattended/otherwise normal packages, but are still investigated until determined. Any news room around will have scanners listening for interesting calls to get a jump on stories. Most of the time, news agencies wait until initial units arrive, because it's very often what we term "good intent." As in the reporting person found a package (which can be a bag, suitcase, box, anything really) that they weren't sure about and called it in. (Note also that's different than a malicious false report that occurs, but is significantly less common)
But, on a day like today, when there's legit devices supposedly found elsewhere, any additional reports at high profile locations are likely to be reported upon immediately. (And folks at those locations have an increased index of suspicion to call in a report due to the other devices).
So, you'll likely see a lot of other reports that turn out to not to be actual devices. But, they'll each need to be investigated.
Remember this: 100% are "shit calls." Most are "Bullshit," but a few turn out to be "Oh, shit!" You just don't know which is which right away.

Trump gave a reasonable update and did condemn, although I do find his words rather hypocritical.
he said the bare minimum, which is expected considering he is the inspiration for these bombs.
Not sure, but I do think it means it's still open season on body slamming reporters.
