can someone give me examples of their combat tactics to have allistair tank as well as stats? he seems super squishy and not able to hold aggro and most of my group members have items that reduce hostility, right now he's at level 15 and has..33 constitution i think.. Id appreciate it. Currently his tactics are
self>any activate>shield wall (the last tier shield defense one)
self>any activate>threaten
enemy clustered more than 4 > taunt
and then he has some attack skills such as shield bash/pummel. and to use a weak health pot if he gets below 25%
also...morrigan doesnt always do her job at healing party members below 50%....does anyone else have this problem?
I would set healing potions to be below 50% instead of 25%.
You are doing the same thing I'm doing. I think we really need to kind of wait for the next patch. Bioware are suppose to be fixing game balance issues in it.
alright ill change it to below 50% i was doing 25 because morrigan is supposed to be healing below 50. ive noticed a few glitches in the games AI that piss me off but its so addicting i love it

And her attitude towards everything seems to be uncaring - so if you choose the "I don't give a rats ass" answers - that'll eventually help you get into her tent.![]()
I've been so engrossed in this game.. I've not even considered to check for shared tactics.
OMG this game brings everything to the table! Top-down view brings back memories of the Baldur's Gate series. Over the shoulder brings back memories of The Witcher, Mass Effect, and Oblivion. Switching controlled character control and POV on-the-fly is a new, wonderful experience for me. Pausing, panning, controls, menus, everything!! This game is amazing.
I've spent months waiting on a DX 11 GPU thinking I'll find some joy in whatever games will surface. Sure I have a 5870; but this game, this is the jewel I needed to discover. This game was so needed right now.
Highest praise goes to all who brought this game to market. Combining everything so seamlessly.. it's a masterpiece. Top down, over-the-shoulder, whatever you like, whatever does it for you, this game delivers. I'm barely halfway, yet know I'll play this one again..

I know it should be self-explanatory for readers, but you might want to put those links in spoiler tags. The third one is a plot spoiler.
Not really. You get the. This was about 4-5 hours in gameplay for me. It's pretty obvious it's going to be thedream about the archdemon dragon fairly early on, the first time you camp in the overworldgame boss, it's the name of the game, duh!
I have to agree with the previous poster. It is a spoiler.
I believe Bioware actually showed that part in one of their trailers but blanked out any strong evidence of any spoiler activity before the engagement.
I have played at least 25 hours of the game and the in-game progress meter puts me at 22% complete. I love this game.
Yeah, a few of the things in this game are kinda frustrating - the stupid AI, unintuitive Tactics system, the lack of a serious D&D-esque manual (which is pretty much required for power players in a game that seems like it has this much depth), the clunky interface and movement/camera issues, and the high system requirements for a game that does not have that much graphical glamor...
I've found tactics to be a little painfully useless at times - so even though my main character is a mage [with single target healing/a lot of cc spells], I run around/mainly fight using Alistair. Typically I will setup battles as such:
I use Alistair [tank], Morrigan [she can be a pain in the ass sometimes - but she has some great CC spells/support dps/tank shapeshifter], myself [dps/cc/heal mage], and Leliana [awesome for ranged and lockpicking/stealing/romance].
Before entering an area [doorway] - place a trap down in front of the entrance. Position the ranged characters at "max" range from the entryway - with a clear view of the battle for spells/arrows. Press "H" to hold everyone in place [nothing's worse than the characters running INTO battle when they need to be away from the bloodshed]. Open the door with Alistair - combat pauses - then just cast/combat/pause until all the mobs are dead.
I wouldn't rely on Morrigan to heal - get Wynne to be your main healer if you're main character isn't. And her attitude towards everything seems to be uncaring - so if you choose the "I don't give a rats ass" answers - that'll eventually help you get into her tent.![]()
