I don't see why everyone is so pissed off with them, they had opinions and they expressed them, what is more American than that. They had the courage to say what many Texans (myseslf included) think. I cannot leave the country and mention I'm from Texas without the first thing people saying is "Ahhh George Bush!" Hell, if I was from Maine I might not care so much, but the fact that he furthers all the negative "cowboy" stereotypes of Texans is, yes, embarassing.

I know this concept of there being 2 sides to free speech is new to you liberals, but... lets try to keep SOME sort of objectivity.

There was an interview with Madonna where she recently expressed an opinion similar to yours.. It went something like "Why should people be punished for their opinions.." Because thats how freedom works, you are free to express your opinion, and the consumer is free to not choose your product because of it. You liberals think you have the right to express your opinions without consequence.

Actually no. I was a volunteer for the Republican party during his election and even stood outside for hours in the freezing rain in Austin on election night only to have him send out George P. Bush to tell us that his uncle was not coming out. I supported him because my family is well off and he is all about helping those who don't need help, with tax cuts and stuff. I started to dislike Bush after 9/11 when we got to see what a monster John Ashcroft is and how the administration is filled with right wing, neo-conservative hawks. I don't hate Bush as that would mean I have mailicious feelings towards him. I just think he's an idiot. As for your astute observations about my political affiliations... you were wrong.

The only problem with that is that when you are a huge minority, a boycott does not do any good. The reason nobody is boycotting pro-war entertainers is that most people AGREE with them.

And this new wave of neo-conservatism only re-enforces to me how wrong I was to ever think the being Republican was the way to go. But then again, I'm young, atleast I'm discovering my political affiliation for myself and not blindly following the crowd. Try doing that in Texas.
