Dear White People, what method is acceptable to you for us black people to protest racial injustice?

For the sake of discussion, let's say I'm referring to mostly white conservatives. It seems you have made yourselves the arbiter of what is acceptable so I'm asking for your permission. Currently any method black people use to protest, white people object. Let's examine a few.

(Riots/looting): Most right minded black people myself included are against this. Not only does it destroy property and lay ruin to our own communities, it distracts from the overall message of racial injustice.
(Peaceful) Colin Kapernick: Disrespectful to soldiers/the flag.
(Peaceful) Black Lives Matter: Terrorist organization. Anti-police. You block the streets we will run you over.
(Peaceful) LeBron James: Shut up and dribble
(Peaceful) Actors/musicians: We don't want to hear your politics. Just perform.
(Peaceful) poor people: Why aren't you at work?
(Peaceful) rich people: No one wants to hear from spoiled millionaires.

White people don't seem to mind when favs mix politics with entertainment. Country stars mixing heavy doses of patriotism in their lyrics. Playing of the national anthem before games is a recent invention that mixes politics with sports. I won't even wade into bringing semi-automatic weapons, blackface and confederate flags to protest re-opening your favorite burger joint or a salon to get a mani-pedi.
So white people, tell us black people how we are supposed to protest? How are we supposed to behave? In a way that will not draw your ire.

Dear Black People:

You are fucking stupid for believing all white people think alike.

Have a nice fucking day.

Any way that doesn't involve breaking important laws. I say "important" laws because I think being disruptive, i.e. blocking traffic, can be a valid way to protest.

Oh, this isn't just a description of the limits of black protesters. I mean anyone protesting anything.

I also think bringing assault rifles onto government property to protest temporary business closures during a pandemic and having to wear a fucking mask is a really bad idea. Technically, it's legal in some states, but it really, really shouldn't be.

Silence.....

Personally, I think burning some cities down might actually be what is needed. Might want to start with a Police Station, City Hall, or State Capitol building.

No, you're just triggered enough to ignore the specificity in his first fucking sentence.

Have a smarter day, get back to us on the nice won't you?

Anyway you want.
I have no problem with the things you've listed.
Destroying personal property should be off the board though.

But I know I'm not the "white people" you're referencing.

Arguably, this "no, not like that" strategy of stifling protest comes from the same mindset that, say, a 2A zealot uses when they say "but what about car crashes?" when trying to block gun control. It's a passive-aggressive way of avoiding the issue -- they create an impossible scenario so that they never have to tell the truth about their vile ideologies (in this case, that racist white people don't want BLM protests at all).

I'm a white person, and I think most of those besides rioting/looting are perfectly acceptable ways to protest.

Way to bundle all white people together. You suck at this.

1: His first line.
2: If you find most of those perfectly acceptable, you clearly haven't gotten drunk off Fox News lately (Or in the past decade) and are not the target audience for the questions.

As I posted in another thread, Wall Street has indicated that the current protest methods are not working. If one wants change, one has to make the people who can affect change care enough to do so. Who makes the tear gas canisters, the clubs, the shields, the body armor? Every time a cop beats someone up, somewhere a stock price goes up and someone makes a bit more money. Those people are the ones who need to feel the truncheon kiss.

I would not have guessed that HomerJS is a "black person". Believe it or not -- I've wanted to gain membership for the last decade or so, but I have a problem. I'm a "so-called" white person, or -- as I prefer it be called -- a "Caucasian".

And -- I know, and I believe -- that Martin Luther King Jr. was great. In theory, I believe in "creative non-violence" and history proves that it works. After all, it was originally Gandhi's idea.

But I have this "John Brown" streak. I occasionally remind myself to trim my beard, fearing a temptation to raid Harper's Ferry or massacre a bunch of people in Kansas.

You nail down the hypocrisy and logical inconsistencies of "white thinking" very well. It needs elaboration and expansion. As only a "second-hand" participant, I suppose I can help with this, but my fingers are a bit overtaxed today. Later maybe . . .

Gandhi's non-violence worked because the British knew that Gandhi was sitting on a powder keg with a lit match. MLK didn't have the same leverage but used what he had.

To be or not to be, that is the question, a question which in my opinion gets answered not with forethought and wisdom, but mechanically.

Just because a question is asked does not mean I know the answer.
