FYI: in the past couple of years I have submitted 15+ rebates that had a coupon applied. I have received every single rebate check and had only 2 simple problems that required a phone call to resolve. I have received most checks within the time frame of 6-8 weeks. The most recent rebate submission was in Dec. 2001 and I received a check at the end of Jan 2002. My main complaint is that the check is printed on a 3 1/2 x 6" post card that can be easily lost and has been lost on one occasion. This was yesterday so I can't predict what will happen tomorrow.

I just got mine yesterday !! I went to the store but they didn't have it, so they ordered it for me on the computer in the store from Staples website ... I paid and left, the next day it was at my front door, I hooked it up and baamm... great scanner !! it looks like it won many awards.. I mean Visioneer in general, also comes with a very nice software package ...
You wont get your rebate if did not purchase it between 14 and 18 Feb 02 .. the rebate form they gave me at the store said between, 16 and 18 ... so I was like .. shiitttttt but the online rebate said 14 and 18 .. and I got mine on the 14 !!
I hope to get my money back ...
I was curious if I should put that money as earned income on my tax return !! hehe hehe

Finally got there Monday evening at 8:30 pm. Got the Visioneer 8100 scanner , 24x Pacifi Digital (Lite-on) CDRW, 64 MB Smart Card, keyboard, mouse, 3 cases of drinkin water, etc. I used a $30 off coupon/email. Paid about $250 with the tax and will get $150 back in rebates . To bad I dont really need ths stuff, its like a disease. (haha).

Saw one of these scanners at a Staple's B&M today for $74.99. If I would buy this, and send in the rebate, would I get all my money back, or just $74.99, or nothing at all?

Just wondering, didn't buy it, thought I would get input first.

I received mine last night. The seal was broken just like the other persons post.

Everything was there including the USB and Para cables.

I sent in the rebate today so will see what happens.

Got a couple today. Neither one had the XP sticker, but both are sealed. I can't imagine these shouldn't work in XP after a simple driver download, considering I presently have a Visioneer 4400 USB that works just fine after I got the updated driver.

Anybody tried the "non-XP" ones in XP yet?

The problem in XP is the PaperPort software earlier than Version 8. You can download XP Drivers from Visioneer's Web Site HERE. There is some discussion about issues with XP and PaperPort in This Thread on another site.

Yeah, I'm running version 8 like a champ. I had problems with version 7, but 6.5 (or possibly 5.1) worked okay, even though it did give me some warning message on startup.

Seems like there won't be a problem with this scanner in XP then (given the right driver and program).

PP v.7 working fine with XP here. Thats what came with mine. I got the XP version.

Hmm . . . I must be mistaken then. Maybe I had problems with 6.5 and no problems with 5.1 or something like that. Anyhow, version 8 works great. Good to hear that 7 does as well. Maybe Visioneer added XP support to 7, although I can't imagine they would do that after they've released 8. So, XP and 7 probably coexisted fine before. Sorry if there was any misinformation there.
