Just wondering, my shipping info on Staples.com says it has been shipped. Does that actually mean that it has been shipped, or am I being given the run around? I received my rubber bands today, even though it said that I was supposed to get them tomorrow. Says I am to receive the scanner next Monday. Anyone know how much I can depend on what their shipping info says?

thanks,

Gump

Gump,
staples is pretty reliable for shipping stuff out once they say it's been shipped... i guess you can them to double-check though if it's taking a while.

hey, does anyone know if it's legit to print out a copy of the confirmation email or order history receipt to use as the "sales receipt" - for the rebates??? i didn't find ANY packing slip included with the shipment (i got everything today). also, has anybody confirmed for sure if staples will honor the rebate even though i used the 20 off 100$ coupon?? i heard conflicting reports about that.... it's worked for me fine in the past but i'm a little hesitant hearing about it now.

what's the story with the AMEX Blue PMing also??? has anybody called in recently to see if they'll still do it??? what's the best way to go for PMing right now?? Staples or AMEX??

I've used the Order Details printout before with no problem. Not sure about the others.

Don't have a clue as to the other quesitons. But, my gut feels is that using a coupon makes no difference. I ordered one after all this crap started being discussed and the item was ordered and shipped with no problem. Can't imagine that the rebate house is going to sit around and calculate (for those to whom this applies) whether the $20.00 was off the scanner or the software or the soda or the water or the camera, etc., etc. Staples could easily have disallowed coupons during the order--but they didn't. These scanners are old technology--particularly in light of the $100.00 claimed price point. Visioneer wants to blow them out I'm sure. And if people forget to send in the rebates, just as well. I don't think anyone at Visioneer or Staples is thinking that these are being sold at a loss. By the time you take into account rebate submissions, price of technology, state of technology, etc., etc. I'm sure Visioneer and Staples will do just fine even with the $20.00 coupon.

yea... i was always under the notion that as long as you made a purchase on the item (no matter how much it was), you're still eligible for any MIR's no matter what.
as for the AMEX PM... i guess i'll call them and find out what the story is... or if they'll even do a PM (there was a lot of controversy over this deal since Staples has their own PM policy...)

K, got the scanner today. Have a few questions now.

#1, should I send the white or yellow copy of the shipping receipt, or does it matter?

#2, should I send it certified mail, or will regular mail be fine?

Thanks for all the help, past and future.

Gump

Staples Told me that using a coopon with a Staples rebate is not going to work and the rebate will kick back ,BUT AT THAT TIME YOU CAN PAY THE COOPON AND GET THE REBATE ,I'm sending mine in and see if it mails back to me

<< #1, should I send the white or yellow copy of the shipping receipt, or does it matter? >>

I don't think it matters, I have always submitted the white copy.

<< #2, should I send it certified mail, or will regular mail be fine? >>

That is up to you and your comfort zone. I have always sent by regular mail with no problems.

The date to buy it is expired, but I ordered it online. Sorry, didn't explain myself enough, I meant that I received it via UPS today. I have until 3/18 to send the rebate in, correct?

I doubt it matters. I usually use the web printout of my order.

#2, should I send it certified mail, or will regular mail be fine?

Many people just use regular mail, on the theory that if they keep copies and something goes wrong, they can get it straightened out. My rule of thumb is to use certified mail for anything over $30 -- it makes me more comfortable for big rebates and the certified fee is 10% or less of the rebate if the rebate is over $30.

I had mine shipped to work, and it created quite a stir.

Yesterday, the UPS guy ran into the building with a box, got the first person he could find to sign for it, and ran out. The package had no name on it, and the accounts payable clerks were completely flipped out, thinking a valuable item had arrived with no inidcation of who had ordered it.

So they opened the box, and inside was...a box of paper clips.

They were totally baffled until the scanner arrived today -- with a packing slip containing my name, and showing that I'd ordered both the scanner and the paper clips.

LOL. thats classic. =)

so we send in that packing slip that says "this is not an invoice" ?

i bought staples with my order (cuz i actually needed some staples) ... and they shipped separately. the staples came first and the packing slip is on carbon copy paper. the scanner came out something that looked like it came out of laser printer. send both in? this is confusing. they make money off of fools like me. =)

For those who were concerned. I bought one with a PM and $30 off $150 coupon at my local B & M, combined with another free after MIR item.

Mailed the rebate submssion (certified) on February 16, and recently received an e-mail with a link to the following:

New one on me, and I've done tons of these. Since it's a Staples thing though, it should be no problem.

<<

<< Hey so this rebate worked! >>

Of course, did you think otherwise?

That statement is new. I would not call that a status of Your rebate is valid and has been approved for processing a guarantee that your rebate has been approved. It simply means that you submitted all the correct rebate materials within the promotion period. They still must "evaluate" the content of your materials.

BTW Mine shows as mailed. I used a Business rewards check which is basically a Staples coupon to purchase

Early today, my rebate status was: Your rebate is valid and has been approved for processing. Once STAPLES has supplied funding for this promotion, your rebate will be mailed promptly.

My rebate status has been changed to: Your rebate is valid. Your check will be mailed after processing has been completed.

Got my rebate today! - This was one of my first buys on my short life so far on this board. Cant believe they actually paid me $11 to come pick up a scanner. God, I love this place 🙂

Please forgive me if someone else has posted a similar software update.

My Visioneer 8100 scanner came shipped with Paperport 6.1 included. I called Visioneer customer service and stated that I purchased the scanner because of its XP compatibility. I asked for Paperport 7.0 and told the rep I was aware that some units are shipping with the new software.

She told me the software was not in stock, but that it would be sent. I received it today, about 10 days later.

It seems as though they've already pulled this rebate off their online rebate center. I think it's dump how pull the rebates before the final postmark deadline. What about all us laggers out there who wait till the very last minute to fill out and submit the form? 😛 i know...i know... But can anyone please help me out with this rebate form i would really appreciate it. 🙂 thanks!
