Did a trial round today after doing a full workout. One round time 1:17. The push press's felt heavy today but I think it's because I did a lot of upper body the last 4 days.

Relaxing until Sat at 9 am and when I do it.

My goal is 8, I'm sure my bane will be 1) 115# push press and 2) cardio.

Monday: 3x5 front squat @ 185
WOD: 12 min am rap
50 DU
30 sec handstand hold
12 pull ups
4+9.
This is actually a great WOD considering 13.2

Took Tues/Wednesday off.

Went in for barbell training today, no WOD
5x5 squat 225
Push press 3x5 95, 2x5 135
Cleans 2x5 95, 3x5 135, 2x5 155

Tomorrow nothing, just rest

Sister did 194 this morning after cutting her leg on a missed jump in round 2.

My Goal is 7 rounds/210, will be interesting how close i can get.

Do it! Are you planning on jumping down from the box or step down?

I'm gonna step down, too many issues with tendon/achilles rips.

I tried both ways when i praticed a bit yesterday. I am 5'8" stepping down seemed to cause more stress on my legs then just hoping down. So going to hop until i can't.

Wow, the push press later rounds killed me. After talking to some people I stepped up and down all the boxes. Got 170 with 3 no reps.

First round was a 1:09 and 90 rep 4:14. Just could not keep the pace. Being competitive I have to remember at times I have been doing it less then 3 months. I want to be farther alomg then I am.

what shoes you wear? im either gonna go chucks, i dont see an advantage wearing lifthing shoes for push presses and light deadlifts.

You guys are solid! 166 for me, very happy with the score an I was limited by stamina. No low back pain and lots of leg burn which means my presses and deadlifts form were good.

Nice job. Looking back cleaning the 115 wore the crap out of me past the 2nd round.

Here's to hopefully no pullups next week ha.

Did you hear about the guy who scored a 387 on 13.2 and then posted a video of the wod once people started saying that the score couldn't be correct so someone posted a video of his performance and there were so many no-reps that they disqualified him and his box from the rest of the games? I think the guy's name is Josh Golden.

EDIT: http://www.examiner.com/article/jos...-crossfit-games-open-workout-13-2-is-rejected

Yeah, I was following it. Dude has a diesel engine for his cardio. I think the chain of events happened:
Score submitted and judged by the owner of the gym
People were like wtf that's too high
Someone uploaded a video and people were outraged
Owner of gym said .. i summarize, "gtfo, he's good, standards were met"
HQ said .. uh no, Golden is DQ'd and no one at the box is ever allowed to verify scores at the gym for remainder of the open. members of said gym need to visit another box to verify scores
Gym owner apologized for saying foolish things.

If only he hadn't submitted to pressure and sent the video he would probably still be in the games. But I read an interview with him and I found it a bit unfair that he wasn't allowed to retry the workout with an HQ judge or something. The negative backlash is also really unfortunate. If he were really trying to cheat why would he upload the video in the first place.

he didn't upload it, someone at the gym did. I think the judgement was harsh in terms of a DQ and not allowed to re-do.

Wow that's crazy, did not hear about that. My box is good the judges no rep if its no rep, no hard feelings by anyone. Also the judge's won't coach or giive tips as your going, even though you can tell they are dieing to say something at times.

Well I am great with double unders but can't do muscle ups yet. Shooting for a 240 at the 10 min mark and struggle with a muscle up for 2 mins.

lol

I will be shooting for 240 also. 150 wallballs sucks so I suspect I won't have any shoulders left by the time I try to string double unders together so it will probably take a good while to finish those. I might try going really slowly in order to string them together better than when I go faster since that will probably end up with only 2 or 3 at a time.

Then, when I'm good and tired and sweaty I'll try to finally complete a single muscle-up which I haven't been able to do yet.

Good times.

For some good pointers, here's a video of Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet doing muscle-ups at 300 frames per second:

You guys try this yet? I timed some Double unders, as a warmup did 90 in 1:28, then did Martz hero WoD and right away did another 90, and lowered it to 1:08 for 90.

Issue is now i am not sure i will get to them, i praticed a few wallballs, after 20 or so sheesh...

On a recent wod I was able to get 110 wallballs in 7 minutes but I was really struggling by the end. It will probably take me 10 minutes to get up to 150 and that will only leave 2 minutes for 90 double unders with exhausted shoulders.

I will happy to be able to at least attempt 1 muscle-up.

Well today was a humbling day. My mind is way farther then my body. 85 wallballs with about 25 no reps. They just smoked me, just mad because I am great at double unders. Next year I look forward to seeing where I am.
